Bitcoin adoption is the real thing, and ever since El Salvador took charge of becoming the first country to adopt bitcoin as one of their legal tenders, others also wanting to join and bask under the golden sheen of Bitcoin. The South American region is mostly interested in adopting Bitcoin and going all the way in as El Salvador did.

Other countries such as Argentina and Paraguay have been going at it for some time now; both show the will to do so but can’t necessarily make the decision as there is too much regulatory pressure being spun around. It is to be noted here that when El Salvador wanted to go with the Bitcoin adoption, no one came forward for help, not the World Bank, not even any other financial institution; in fact, this very decision of the country was laughed at. But now Argentina and even Paraguay are giving the idea of Bitcoin adoption a serious thought.

Now it is Colombia trying to have a go at Bitcoin for good; the president’s advisor Castro Sierra told an independent crypto news agency that he is more interested in the idea of Bitcoin from a geek point of view rather than a politician. He says that his earlier job was affiliated with a tech company, and there he was introduced to the idea of Bitcoin.

Castro Sierra Praises Bitcoin’s Mining Aspect

He refers to the flagship cryptocurrency as the most brilliant and innovative piece of software. As Castro explained, the most amazing aspect is the mining aspect of the cryptocurrency as it proves as a monetary development that one can have with Bitcoin. It is one of the most amazing open-source projects and, for that reason, instils a level of innovation that hardly comes from any other crypto or blockchain-oriented project. This might not sound as if Columbia is ready to adopt bitcoin just yet, but the hope is there. All this shop talk doesn’t prove anything until the country is ready to go with the decision. Anyway, the adoption rate is out there, and it sure seems like if not tomorrow, then maybe other countries will also be joining the crypto race in the future.
