Charles Hoskinson Says Cardano’s Priority Is Human Rights

The founder of Cardano and active CEO of IOHK, Charles Hoskinson, has recently given comments about how human rights are important in any sector and also of how difficult it is to operate functional blockchain tech in the modern market.

Human Rights

During an interview with Bloomberg, Charles Hoskinson gave importance to human rights, saying that he and his company have always tried to maintain human rights. In reference to his hard work in the country of Ethiopia, Charles mentioned that “We as a company believe in the best human rights.” Justifying his statements, Charles stated that there is no point in constructing any identity-based solutions in a nation that has a very known record of having several institutional transgressions, so if any solutions were to be built, it would definitely be taken advantage against the people.

If It Doesn’t Work, Leave It

Talking about his company operating on a much more practical approach, Charles said that every agreement needs to be balanced and for that to happen, firstly, the country-level needs to be checked, then it should be followed by understanding the facts and situations, so sometimes you just have to leave that certain area, even if you put several years of work into it.

Connecting to this statement, Charles told in the interview about a country in Central America that he was really interested in working with but had to refuse a deal because of the law enforcement situation, which was getting out of hand, making it difficult to work there. But, despite all these factors, Charles still stated that there is a lot of potentials that these areas would take advantage of blockchain technology to progress on a rapid growth level.

Development in Ethiopia

Looking at IOHK’s progress in the country of Ethiopia, Cardano is working with the nation’s Ministry of Education to bring in an all-in-one credential system for its students. Students’ IDs will be connected to the management system from the Ministry of Education. The connection will provide students with teachings and policies according to their interests while also providing ways to back up their important stuff like qualification certificates and property documents.
