Customers Pay In Fiat: Owner Of Shiba Wings (SHIB-themed Eatery) Reports
The owner of Shiba Wings, a fast-food eatery based in Australia, has lamented that customers still pay in fiat currencies rather than cryptocurrencies. He added that customers seemingly patronized them for the food rather than because they were branded in crypto.
Shiba Wings is a SHIB-themed restaurant that was launched on March 18 at the Surfers Paradise’s beachside city, Cavil Avenue. And according to reports, it has been witnessing massive customers patronizing it. However, reports showed that many were there to feed their tummies and not because of the crypto-enabled payment system available in the restaurant.
Furthermore, the owner of the restaurant, who goes by the pseudonym, Elijah, stated that the restaurant only received about 250 AUD ($168) in crypto asset payments during the first week of opening. The rate fell drastically to about 50 AUD ($34) worth of crypto weekly in the following months. In addition, most of the crypto payments received were reportedly in SHIB, DOGE, and ADA.
Nonetheless, Elijah seemed not to be agitated as he claimed that the business was not focused on cryptocurrency. The owner added that he is more committed to providing different quality delicacies that would satisfy his customers and help expand the branded restaurant itself.
Elijah Is More Focused On Expanding His Brand
According to him, paying in crypto is an add-on advantage to him and not the real deal. Elijah also stated that most customers don’t want to end up like the guy that used his BTC to buy pizzas; hence they pay in Fiats instead. Hi
Furthermore, he claimed that he used to urge his customers not to expand much of their crypto holdings by patronizing him. Elijah would tell his customers to use the coin they hold in abundance to pay if they insisted on paying with a crypto coin, according to the report.
According to Elijah, his central goal is to create a fast-food franchise that could rise to the level of McDonald’s, leveraging on the crypto network of Shiba Inu mainly. Furthermore, he stated that he purchased the Shiba Inu intellectual property rights in Australia in order to name his restaurant after the coin.
Also, Elijah reportedly planned to leverage the purchased right to open more of his branded Shiba Wings restaurant across the globe as time passed by. His dream is to build a world-class restaurant that would compete with top rivals like Maccas and McDonald. However, with a touch of the cryptocurrency element, he aimed to give a different spin and feel of the brand, presenting it as the first food branch in the crypto industry.
Shiba Wings To Create Its NFT Collection and Native Token
While commenting, the owner, Elijah, also pointed out that the brand Shiba Wings would be launching its first-ever on-fungible token (NFT) soon. According to him, the NFT would enable holders to own a share of his business.
In addition, Elijah said the proposed NFT would represent about 15% ownership of all the eatery present in a particular region. Holders would automatically become quasi-shareholders, and as rewards, they would receive incentives every three months.
Explaining further, Elijah related that the food brand is planning to create a unique crypto token that would be modeled as the native token for Shiba Wings. Holders who use the proposed token to purchase food items in the restaurant would receive in-store incentives, according to the report.
Meanwhile, the result of research carried out in August last year by a crypto analytic firm revealed that about 55% of merchants and consumers in Australia showed interest in buying goods and services with crypto assets. On the other hand, about 47% of the correspondent said they are willing to receive crypto tokens as payment for goods that consumers purchased from their store in the future.
On the other hand, the Shiba Inu network has a massive follower base across the globe. At the time of writing, on Twitter’s social medium, the Shib Army and the Shiba Inu Token accounts both claimed cumulative followers of over 4.1 million.
