Project Kyzen 3D Creator Considers AI Challenges to ‘Escalate Dramatically’ in 2024

Crypto gaming executive Tom Bilyeu hailed blockchain consistency in proving authenticity despite threats posed by AI-generated deepfakes. The creator behind Project Kyzen 3D emphasized that the proof of authenticity represents the perfect first use case of blockchain amid the concerns for AI-generated deepfakes.

Inadequate Awareness of Serious Challenges Posed by AI-deepfakes

Bilyeu urged authenticity proof during the annual VanEck Blockchain Conference held in Los Angeles, acknowledging the inevitable convergence of AI and blockchain technologies.

Bilyeu predicted that the AI-generated deepfakes challenges will escalate this year as the US edges closer to the November presidential election. The crypto gaming expert ruled out that people are conscious of the severe challenges posed by AI-deepfakes.

Bilyeu showed that the recent AI-generated deepfake scam is evident in the impersonation of MicroStrategy’s chair, Michael Saylor. He illustrated that AI-based watermarking and integrating such things on the blockchain to prove authenticity is a critical achievement.

Threats posed by AI-generated deepfakes are widespread, gaining the attention of the Biden Administration, which urged the companies to ensure tagging of authentic content in February. The use of digital watermarks and cryptography will help fight disinformation.

The Webs game creator Bilyeu, alongside the wife, is behind the successful Impact Theory and is against AI-deepfakes. The wellness entrepreneur who sold Quest Nutrition for $1 billion has a cult following on the Impact Theory channel on YouTube.

Bilyeu has overseen Impact Theory in selling Founders Keys NFT three years ago in fundraising for a stake in the company. The company would face charges leveled by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), settled with a $6M fine and burning the keys.

Beyond the criticism of AI-generated deepfakes, Bilyeu has proved iconic in crypto game development, particularly for introducing Project Kyzen. It involves a digital platform with evolving game features alongside digital avatars in a 3D world. Project Kyzen leveraged the input of former executives at Bank of America, Disney, and Riot Games.

Reflection on OpenAI Lawsuit Alleging Copyright Infringement

Copyright infringement and plagiarism have taken center stage since the unveiling of GPT-4 by the Microsoft-backed OpenAI. The Sam Altman-led company is among AI model developers battling charges related to copyright infringement.

Bilyeu reflected on the New York Times (NYT) lawsuit against OpenAI alleging copyright infringement.

The media company claims OpenAI utilized the platform’s articles to train AI models without dissent. The outcome is declined revenues as readers switch to the freely available content offered by OpenAI’s model. Also affected are the subscriptions, as members opt to use the content availed by the OpenAI’s model.

OpenAI responded to NYT in January, accusing the news outlet of crafting the AI prompts to yield the evidence they required and submitted when filing the complaint.

Bilyeu considers that the proof of authenticity in a piece of information and its source would help resolve such a legal dispute. He laments that blockchain is yet to witness rapid adoption to fulfill such a purpose.

Blockchain Technology to Help Mitigate Threats Posed by AI-Deepfakes

Bilyeu believes that rapid adoption is likely in the future, given that the pacy AI catches most parties off guard. He supports deploying blockchain technology to prove ownership, mainly when utilized as the digital ledger.

Bilyeu indicated that it is prudent to prove copyright ownership when one takes items in a similar manner to prove humanity. Such is possible if a rights management system is deployed and plugged into the blockchain.

Bilyeu is optimistic that Blockchain technology could become incredibly useful in proving ownership in the long run. Its utilization would eliminate disputes involving AI models and media companies.

Bilyeu is endorsing blockchain technology use in creating scarcity. Doing so would facilitate value retention in digital assets and bridge physical and virtual spaces.

The integration of copyright ownership will facilitate the identification and rightful owners of content amid the flood caused by AI-generated deepfakes.
