A Redditor Locks Away Bitcoin Worth $100M In a Public Library For the Next 100 Years
Yesterday, a Reddit user called Optimal-Dentisdador experimented with the Bitcoin network’s longevity through a time-lapse trial. OD shared a post noting that a letter has been written by the Redditor along with the private keys for the $100 worth in Bitcoin. As per OD, they placed nearly 0.003 BTC in a unique address and put the public and private key as well as the respective letter in a package.
According to them, some entertaining experiments are usually performed by people where they note down something such as diary, poetry, or letter which they hide somewhere for a considerable period like 100 years. On finding the specific thing, the person discovering it would attempt to search for the relatives of the owner and hand it over to them. Such a time-taking experiment was carried out by OD.
The life-long test was stimulated by recent incidents that happened in the public library of the city of OD. They determined to insert something extraordinary in their time capsule, known as the private as well as public-key details for the respective 0.003 BTC. They asserted to inform about this happening to the family thereof, nonetheless, they also told a joke that they may forget the respective incident eventually as no one knows what is to come in the impending decades.
