Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson Calls Ethereum Classic a Scam Project
Charles Hoskinson has opened a can of worms in the crypto community with his latest remarks. He has slammed Ethereum Classic as a scam and claimed that it should be banned rather than Ergo.
He was referring to the latest controversy about the PoW work summit. This summit is organized by the ETC Cooperative. The summit is set to take place this year. However, the organizers have refrained from extending an invitation to Ergo.
The news has created some waves of discomfort in the crypto community because Ergo is also a Proof-of-Work blockchain network. Another PoW project that will not be attending the event this year is Litecoin Foundation.
Bob Summerville is the director of the Proof of Work Summit. He has declared that the decision has been made keeping in view the nature of the correspondence between both blockchain networks.
Talking about the reaction from the ETC Cooperation, Hoskinson has claimed that Ethereum Classic should be the project that is not invited. He claimed that this project dumps on the recruits and gives them false hope in favor of the insiders.
The tussle between the ETC Cooperation and Ergo is a result of their official Twitter account management.
Cardano Foundation has offered to maintain the official Twitter account of Ergo which has 600K followers. This offer has resulted in animosity with the ETC Cooperation. The response from the community is understandable under the context that Ergo is considered a direct rival PoW blockchain for ETC cooperation.
This has illicit a response from Hoskinson who posted on his Twitter that ETC or Ethereum Classic is a project that has no vision, team, innovation, or roadmap.
Hoskinson Defends Comes in Support of Ergo
During his outrage tweet, Cardano’s founder maintained that Input-Output Global, or IOG was behind the management of the Twitter account of ETC. However, when the firm moved to new projects, he considered it unethical to that account with considerable followers. He also maintained that since that time, ETC has transformed into a scam.
He maintained that Ergo should have remained invited to the PoW event because it has a clearly defined purpose, ethical leadership qualities, and sufficient funding to back the project. Meanwhile, he has maintained that Ethereum Classic does not a real plan of action or offers any value.
He has criticized other cryptocurrency projects in the past such as XRP and Ethereum. He called XRP toxic plus petty. On another occasion, he likened Ethereum to Hotel California of the crypto sector.
