Jeff Bezos, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder of Amazon, is going to step down as the CEO of the company. The Chief Executive Officer at Amazon Web Services and the cryptocurrency enthusiast, Andy Jassy, is likely to replace Jeff Bezos as the CEO of Amazon. Andy Jassy has been supervising the digital currency product offerings of Amazon.
In a letter written to his employees, Jeff declared that it is about time for him to let go of the chair as the Chief Executive Officer in the company. He said that the decision is to make him focus on what lies ahead for the company in terms of developing new products and initiatives that were earlier sidelined.
Bezos, however, pointed out that he believes in Jassy as he is a man full of confidence and will be an extraordinary leader.
The attention of the crypto world has been drawn to the fact that Andy Jassy is an ardent lover of blockchain technology. This is somewhat good news to the community of traders and investors in the cryptocurrency market. They believe that could really be a good signal of a long-term strategy about cryptocurrency in Amazon, which happens to be the third most valuable company in the world per market capitalization.
Andy Jassy is known for offering positive reviews about the world of cryptocurrency, and in 2017, he presented the applicability of the technology in the businesses of Amazon. Though the policies in Amazon do not allow anyone to adopt and develop new technologies just because they are appealing, Jassy, beyond his doubt for the feasibility of the blockchain technology, would love to try it out to make a distributed ledger.
His passion motivated his success in 2018, as he moved forward with the “quasi-blockchain” offering, as he launched the Amazon Managed Blockchain and Amazon Quantum Ledger. The products, though retained the centralized databases, still have cryptographic features.
As a new CEO of Amazon, the community is really eager to see what Jassy will make of his passion for Blockchain technology.
