El Salvador is the first country to adopt Bitcoin as a legal tender. To undertake the project, the firm is working with an NGO called Mi Primer Bitcoin. The Ministry of Education is overlooking the project on behalf of the Latin American nation. The Ministry intends to include Bitcoin in the national curriculum.
On this account, the non-profit entity has partnered with MPB that stands for My First Bitcoin. The program in question will work for adding Bitcoin-related information as academic syllabus for the children who are in school.
The country intends to make the new curriculum available by next year. John Dennehy is the founder of MPB who told media that the program was initiated by Ministry of Education who has added MPB to assist on the matter. MPB is also working with the Bitcoin Beach initiative.
The Mi Primer Bitcoin program will allow the students to receive a diploma upon successful completion. The students will also get the primary source material for Bitcoin related syllabus that they can study and take notes from as per Dennehy.
Bitcoin’s Diploma Program
The non-profit firm has told media that the program is set to pilot from 7th September with association of Bitcoin Beach. He maintained that Bitcoin diploma program will start by recruiting and training 150 public school teachers who hail from 75 schools.
These recruits will receive the trainer’s training or base knowledge regarding Bitcoin. He also claimed that as one of the first nations in the world to adopt Bitcoin, El Salvador is going to set a good example for the world by the way of adopting quality education.
Dennehy has maintained that once the initial training is completed teachers will be able to go back to schools and teach the curriculum that was prepared by Ministry of Education. He also claimed that in case of success, the program will be adopted in all schools across the nation before the end of next year.
He claimed that when this program first started, the main goal of this program was to ensure better education system for the entire nation. He claimed that this is going to be stepping stone to achieve that goal.
Roman Martinez is the head of Bitcoin Beach. He was invited for an interview with the media reporters. During the interview, he talked about the progress the students have been able to make in this regard.
Martinez claimed that around 25000 students have already completed the basic Bitcoin education course in classrooms. He claimed that the focus of the program is to bring Bitcoin education to the rest of the world.
He told media that the country plans to be the flagbearer of popularizing Bitcoin education. He maintained that the country is looking forward to other nations following suit. At the same time, he claimed that the MBP is conducting meeting with other countries in Latin American region.
He maintained that the states that are interested in implementing the same educational models for their students are likely to get onboard. On 4th September, Cuba posted an update on X that it is rolling out a similar framework of education in the same way as Mi Primer Bitcoin.
