Here are Top Eight Crypto-Themed and NFT Restaurants

The crypto industry has evolved significantly since the first Bitcoin minted 14 years ago. Several sectors have adopted blockchain technology, including real estate, music, and finance. But food and hospitality is the most surprising sector that has been disrupted by crypto.

Today, we have crypto-themed and NFT restaurants serving their customers in a unique way. This article looks to explore some of these restaurants, but before that, it is important we understand what they are.

What are Crypto-themed and NFT Restaurants?

These are food outlets that offer their services to customers holding a unique NFT. They also support crypto payments. Thousands of restaurants have adopted NFTs and crypto as of June 2023. Here are the top eight.

Top Eight Crypto-themed and NFT Restaurants

Crypto Street Restaurant

Launched in late 2021, Crypto Street Restaurant serves customers with dishes pegged to well-known crypto assets. For instance, sandwiches are tagged “Crypto Cuban,” while hot dogs as “Dogedog.” Its founder Ricardo Varona says he was encouraged by his 25-year-old son to start the restaurant after explaining to him the use cases of cryptocurrencies.

Crypto Street Restaurant currently accepts payment in Dogecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin.

Dogeburger

This Dubai-based crypto-themed restaurant allows residents of that city to pay for their burgers using crypto. Note that Dogeburger operates a food delivery app and does not have physical stores. As the title suggests, Dogeburger drew inspiration from Dogecoin. Its packaging features the meme coin’s logo.

You can pay for food using various cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin, BNB, Tether, XRP, Shiba Inu, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.

Flyfish Club

Flyfish Club is based in New York. It launched at the start of the year to serve holders of Flyfish NFTs. The prices of these non-fungible tokens vary depending on the type of membership you wish to subscribe to. For example, the most expensive NFT, Flyfish Omakase, goes for 4 ETH. It gives holders access to all services offered by the restaurant.

Welly’s

Based in Napoli, Welly’s is a Shiba Inu-themed restaurant backed by the meme coin’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama. According to data on Welly’s website, the restaurant adopted Shiba Inu to show people that the token has a real-life use case, unlike most meme coins.

Welly’s tracks the delivery of food orders through layer-2 network Shibarium. Currently, customers can only pay for their orders with SHIB.

Piya

Chef Piyarat Potha Arreeratn, the man behind Oishi Thai restaurant in Miami, launched Piya, an NFT restaurant, last year. It’s also located in Miami. Arreeratn collaborated with blockchain companies Cere Network and FanVerse to design and sell Piya’s NFTs. NFT holders get a pass to exclusive events along with reserving dinner tables. Compared to Flyfish Club, Piya NFTs are relatively cheaper.

Goi Rolls

Based in United Arabs Emirates, Goi Rolls allows customers to mint NFTs of food and then redeem them for actual meals at its restaurant. The Goi Rolls menu includes Vietnamese delicacies like Bao Buns, Pho, and Goiyoza.

Camboflare

Based in Minnesota, Camboflare is a restaurant popular for serving customers tasty Asian meals. It is one of the few US-based food joints that have embraced crypto payments. Since its launch in December 2020, Camboflare has been accepting payments in Dogecoin, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. The restaurant recently announced that it is in the process of creating its own cryptocurrency called Cambocoin.

Authentic Burger Boy

Chef Brad Miller, known for making smash burgers at his Authentic Burger Boy restaurant, partnered with some crypto companies in 2022 to create 9,000 Burger NFTs for his customers to mint. At the time, Miller said each NFT, which sold for $176, could be redeemed for a certain number of burgers at his restaurant.

Conclusion

A few years ago, the use of NFTs in the hospitality sector seemed unreasonable. But these non-fungible tokens have recently proven their usability in real life, allowing restaurants to reimagine how they interact with their customers. That said, be sure to enjoy some delicacies in any of the restaurants discussed above and pay with your crypto or NFT.
