Hot Crypto Stories on X – Bitcoin Fan Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Backs Donald Trump
Scammers Hack McDonald’s Instagram Account to Execute Rug Pull
Crypto enthusiasts on X have had a lot to talk about over the last seven days. The first story to make headlines involved popular fast food restaurant McDonald’s, whose Instagram account got hacked on Wednesday, with the attacker promoting a scam token for well over an hour.
According to crypto sleuth @ZachXBT, the hackers illegally accessed McDonald’s social media account through the firm’s marketing director to promote a Solana-based meme coin created on token launching platform Pump.fun.
Within a few minutes after the scammers shared the first promotion post of their fake Grimace-themed token on McDonald’s Instagram, the meme coin quickly surged in value. An hour later, @DegenerateNews informed their X followers that the hackers had dumped their token holdings, pocketing over $650,000 in SOL. The hackers would later shamelessly brag about the rug pull worth thousands on McDonald’s Instagram bio.
As several investors counted losses, some crypto fans took to X to jokingly ask McDonald’s for compensation. @AshRobin requested the fast food restaurant for a two-week food supply, claiming that he had lost $1,500 to the scammers.

On Friday, Bitcoin fan and former US Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. fueled excitement among crypto enthusiasts after announcing that he had dropped his bid to support another pro-crypto candidate, Donald Trump.
X user @MikeAlfred claimed that Kennedy Jr’s move could push Bitcoin’s price to $300,000 if Trump wins the elections in November. @RyanSAdams, on the other hand, suggested that Trump appoints Kennedy Jr. to a key crypto role if he becomes the next US President.
Following Kennedy Jr’s massive announcement, blockchain advocate @TheCryptoLark has asked crypto users in America to vote for Trump, arguing that Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party do not intend to formulate a comprehensive regulatory framework for crypto companies.
