NFT Sales Jump 28% This Week, Cryptopunks’ Floor Value Surpass BAYC

On Wednesday, statistics revealed that NFT sales have increased by about 27.72% this week compared to the previous week. Also, the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection accounted for most of the sales within this period.

However, the floor value of the Cryptopunks NFT collection still exceeds that of the BAYC collection on Wednesday afternoon.

NFT Sales Within The Past Week Amounts To $154 Million

From December 7th to date, the NFT market has recorded total sales of $154.78 million. This is 27.72% more than the sales recorded the week before.

Meanwhile, cryptoslam.io metrics show that the NFT sales of $154 million came from over 886,605 transactions. Additionally, the data revealed that 184,248 NFT buyers contributed to the sales.

For the second time, NFT sales on the Ethereum blockchain dominated as the blockchain brought in over $129.99 million in NFT sales. This is a huge part of the total sales made during the seven days.

Furthermore, NFT sales on Ethereum climbed by 37.73% compared to Ethereum-based NFT sales the week before. Apart from Ethereum, sales came from Solana, Polygon, Immutable X, and Cardano.

Another blockchain that experienced increased NFT sales in the past seven days is Immutable X. NFT sales increased by about 5.20% higher than the prior week.

On December 14th, Cryptopunks NFTs surpassed the floor value of the BAYC collection once again. BAYC was the top NFT collection with the highest sales in the past seven days.

Cryptopunks Floor Value Surpass BAYC

The BAYC collection raked over $21.84 million in sales over the past seven days. Following the BAYC collection is the Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) collection.

Others on the list are Valhalla, Cockpunch, and then Azuki. Meanwhile, this week, the NFT bought for the highest price was BAYC #441. It was sold for about $691,000 five days ago.

BAYC #3,756 was the next most expensive NFT, sold for $517,000, followed by Sandbox Land #92,594, sold for $202,000. BAYC #2,596 sold for $178K around 24 hours ago, and BAYC #785 sold for around $137K.

Interestingly, four of the five leading NFTs sold in the past seven days were BAYC-related. However, the floor value of BAYC NFTs has dropped below that of Cryptopunks for the second time.

At 1 pm (ET) on December 14th, nftpricefloor.com metrics revealed that the floor price of Cryptopunks exceeded that of BAYC’s by about 1.5 ETH. Meanwhile, NFT sales this year have decreased due to the crypto market winter.
