Quorum, UWM, and SafeGold Holdings to Accept BTC Payments

Bitcoin Adoption

The world’s favorite crypto by market cap, Bitcoin, sees increased adoption by reputable firms.

Unified Wholesale Mortgage (UWM), the mortgage lender based in the US, plans to venture into virtual coins payments this year. Initially, the firm will introduce Bitcoin payments before exploring other potential currencies like Ethereum.

Also, other renowned firms plan to allow their clients to buy services and products using Bitcoin. Quorum Holdings, a property investment firm based in South Africa, wants to avail crypto payments to its clients. Another company interested in virtual currencies is the Canadian jewelry exchange, SafeGold.

UWM, the Michigan wholesale lender, disclosed its plans to accept crypto payments. The company stated that the project would start in the coming months, before 2021 ends. With the implementation, UWM will be the first renowned mortgage lender in the US to accept payments in cryptocurrency.

Mat Ishbia, the firm’s CEO, confessed about his company’s enthusiasm concerning the crypto-project. He stated that they plan to implement the cryptocurrency adoptions within 2021 before other companies make similar moves.

Sauk Mayers, one of the firm’s legal counsels, commented about the company’s recent move. He stated that their customers could utilize Ethereum for payments, besides BTC. Mayers believe that the project’s success will expand the firm’s operation to Johannesburg and Cape Town.

While highlighting the benefits that come with digital assets, Mayers declared the risks that cryptocurrencies carry. He noted the ETH and BTC price dips and the clients destroying properties.

Philipp Plein, a German-based fashion brand, allows payments in fifteen varying cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin.

Though with its volatility, Bitcoin appears to attract institutional investors since this year started. That comes as the leading crypto battles the $50,000 mark.
