TOKEN2049 Crypto Conference Delayed Over Concerns About Coronavirus Outbreak
Coronavirus is affecting the cryptocurrency industry badly as various crypto events have been either canceled or delayed because of this. Recently, a crypto conference has been postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The TOKEN2049 crypto conference was going to be held on March 17-18 in Hong Kong but now according to an announcement, it has been postponed due to concerns about Coronavirus and will be held in the month of October.
As the announcement post reads:
“Over the past weeks, we have been monitoring the global developments around the Coronavirus closely. Whilst Hong Kong is managing the situation well and has taken strict precautions to contain any potential impact, uncertainty prevails.”
The post further states everything else such as venue, setup, and schedule will remain unchanged. Only dates are changed.
Binance also postponed its Binance Blockchain Week Vietnam
Well, this is not the first crypto event that gets delayed due to coronavirus concerns. The crypto exchange Binance had also postponed its Binance Blockchain Week Vietnam. This event was planned to be held from February 29 to March 4 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam but now it has been delayed over concerns about Coronavirus.
According to Binance Crypto exchange:
“At Binance, we prioritize everyone’s health and safety during our events, and amid this global public health emergency, we have committed to do the right thing and protect would-be attendees from health risks associated with public gatherings. Thus, we have to postpone this event.”
Coronavirus continues to infect people
More and more people are becoming the victim of Coronavirus as it has infected around 31,000 people in over 25 countries as CNN reports. Reportedly, it has killed almost 640 people and continues to infect more. Even the Chinese doctor who told the world about the severity of Coronavirus died of the illness.
In the US, the number of confirmed cases has increased to 12 while the UK has three such cases. Hong Kong authorities are restricting people from entering China for 14 days which is the incubation period of the virus.
