Trezor Launching Bitcoin Education Initiatives in Africa to Support Crypto Adoption

The desire to raise a crypto-savvy generation in Africa has inspired vital market players to support the adoption of Bitcoin in the region. Trezor, the prominent hardware wallet provider, has joined a string of companies to educate Africans with the fundamental principles of blockchain and crypto education.

During the Bitcoin conference held in Accra, Ghana, the giant tech company launched an education program, “The Trezor Academy”, to equip Africans with Bitcoin and crypto knowledge.

Trezor Seek to Promote Bitcoin Adoption in Africa

In a recent Chainalysis study, it was found that Africa has a fast-paced crypto market. The report illustrated that despite low crypto activities in Africa due to unfriendly regulations in some African countries, the adoption of Bitcoin is silently on the rise.

According to Chainalysis, tech-savvy populations in Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Kenya have embarked on an exciting journey to seize the viable opportunities in the crypto sector.

This development has enhanced a smooth transition to the crypto sector in most African countries. Following the exciting growth of crypto adoption in Africa, Trezor anticipates that the newly launched educational program will onboard more Africans to the crypto industry.

On Monday, December 4, the Trezor team confirmed a few months ago that the tech company had launched a Trezor Academy pilot program to equip Africans with Bitcoin knowledge. In the successful pilot program, the Trezor team offered the Africans an incredible opportunity to meet with experts and key market players.

The announcement revealed that the pilot program’s target audience included the tech-savvy population in Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, Uganda, Burundi and Nigeria.

Based on the successful implementation of the pilot program, the Trezor team noted that Bitcoin education provided Africans with an excellent opportunity to tap into viable opportunities in the crypto sector. To attain the Bitcoin bid, the Trezor team plans to establish new academies in Africa.

The proposed academies will be established in more than ten countries in Africa. Most importantly, the academies will enrol local educators to support the Trezor Academy’s primary objective of spreading Bitcoin knowledge.

An announcement conveyed by the chief executive of Trezor Matej Zak confirmed that Africa has witnessed a rapid adoption of Bitcoin across the globe. The CEO explained that the features of Trezor’s products and services are designed to meet consumers’ ever-changing demands.

The official retaliated that most of Trezor’s products have features similar to the local savings, microfinance, and payment networks. Besides launching the Trezor Academy in Africa, the CEO admitted that the Czech Republic-based tech company has supported local Bitcoin and crypto firms in realizing their goals.

Among the Trezor-funded initiatives was the Bitcoineta, a program that sought to create Bitcoin awareness in West African countries. A review of the Bitcoineta website demonstrated that the program is available in Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Ghana.

The program has successfully established solid operations in Africa for five years. As part of its long-term objective to support the rise of the crypto-savvy community in Africa, Bitcoineta has partnered with local companies, including Bitcoin Cowries, to launch Bitcoin education.

Besides the strategic partnership, Bitcoineta has adopted creative campaign approaches to reach a large audience in West Africa. Recently, the Bitcoineta team launched a tour titled “Economic Community of West African States.”

The primary focus of the tour was to spread the Bitcoin gospel to rural communities and public schools. To support attaining the tour’s core objectives, Bitcoineta and Trezor launched a convoy of Land Rovers to support the ongoing grassroots campaign.

During the official launching of the campaigns, the Bitcoineta team vowed to regularly update the community on the tour’s progress by sharing videos and images of the road trip.
