MoonCats, one of the first non-fungible tokens projects on Ethereum, might release its genesis project on the blockchain. Although nothing is confirmed, there is a huge possibility that the platform would have to remove the NFT project. There is currently an ongoing trend centered around NFTs, which is making related projects attractive to holders.
Beeple, a famous crypto artist, sold one of his artworks for over $60 million, and this has made the non-fungible token space an industry to be in. NFTs are unique tokens, which cannot be traded like traditional cryptocurrencies. They are digital collectibles and are usually on the Ethereum network.
The genesis MoonCats are valued at around $100,000 each
The Ethereum network is a platform popular in the NFT industry as the blockchain houses many projects within that space. One of the platform’s earliest NFT projects, some MoonCat coons were recently discovered by some crypto enthusiasts, and this has caused numerous engagements on social media over the issue. The genesis NFTs are old, and for that reason, the platform could give them out for free.
Many people have been busy and have released numerous cats, which amounts to over 25,000 released cats. Still, some cats are yet to be released, which sources revealed that they are about 160 in number. The sealed cats are known as the genesis MoonCats, one of the project’s oldest tokens.
While many people have tried to liberate the cats, experts shared that only the anonymous creators, who head the Ponderware project, can liberate the cats and attract interested holders. Sources claim that these cats are more attractive than their counterparts, and those who own some of the genesis tokens have sold them at very high and attractive prices.
Developers created a poll on MoonCats’ release
People are anticipating the cat’s release in a bid to capture the digital cats. These people have also programmed bots that would lock up the cats once it sights them on the blockchain. The bots would adopt the cats immediately it is available for adoption by the developers.
The creators and the token holders are not buying the idea of keeping bots to adopt the cats, which could mean that the tokens would never be liberated. The parties believe that the bots would ‘ruin the fun.’ A holder and a programmer explained that man people who don’t have bots would not get the opportunity to own the cats.
He had rescued many cats when around 25,000 of them were released a week ago. The programmer explained that he sold his cats for Ethereum, which is worth around $3,000. The creators might not eventually liberate the cats due to the unfair advantage those who program bots have.
The developers have put up to poll to determine if they should release the cats or lock them up forever. Another expert opined that people would likely exploit mistakes so that they can have the cat tokens. The cat’s release would enrich those who successfully rescues anyone of them, as each is valued at around $100,000.
