Over the past seven days, a lot happened on crypto Twitter. Last Monday, Coinbase director Conor Grogan took to his Twitter handle to allege that Binance had been involved in insider trading for the past two years. Previously, similar allegations have been made about the exchange.

Elsewhere, on that same day, Researchers from Matrixport, a crypto financial services platform, suggested that the perfect time to open a long position in crypto is after the first day of the Chinese New Year. The researchers said the average profit if one chooses to sell after ten days had been 8% over the last eight years.

Authorities Seize SBF’s Assets

The following day, a crypto whales news account (@Unusual_Whales) revealed that authorities had seized over $45 million from FTX’s founder Sam Bankman-Fried’s account as part of the current investigation into the bankrupt exchange. Many thought Bankman-Fried had only $100k left in his account.

Furthermore, that day, Nayib Bukele, El Salvador’s President, responded to several critics who condemned his decision to force his nation into accepting BTC as a legal tender. The President posted a long thread intended to let everyone know that El Salvador was doing okay.

On Wednesday, Genesis, a crypto lending firm, alleged that Roger Ver, popularly known as Bitcoin Jesus, had failed to settle about $21 million of crypto options. The Bitcoin Jesus responded that the crypto lender needed to be solvent before he fulfilled his obligations, according to the terms of their contract.

US Representative Calls Out the SEC

Moreover, on that day, Bill Huizenga, a Republican US Representative, went after the country’s Securities and Exchange Commission. He tweeted to express his dissatisfaction with how the commission was running things and demanded the regulator double its effort in managing the digital assets industry.

On Thursday, a Twitter user (@Degentraland), who tweets about NFT-related content, posted staggering statistics from the launch week of Dookey Dash, a Yuga Lab’s Bored Ape-inspired game. Degentraland claimed that Dookey Dash players had spent over $700,000 on in-game boosts within a week.

On Friday, news emerged that FTX ex-executives had made massive donations to New York Representative George Santos. Currently, the Congressman is on the Justice Department’s radar following revelations that he is a liar and an alleged scammer.
