Belgian Company Introduces Crypto Payments for Parking Tickets

As expected, cryptocurrency adoption is becoming widespread and these assets are receiving numerous applications on a daily basis. Although crypto payments have become common, they are being adopted for the most unusual reasons. A firm in Belgium is adopting crypto payments for a novel area, which is digital parking. Seety has indicated its interest to integrate crypto payments into its digital parking services.

In light of the innovation, users of the Belgian firm will be able to make cryptocurrency payments in exchange for its services. According to Seety, users can make payments in Bitcoin and a host of other cryptocurrencies. Seety has only rolled out this service in two major cities within Belgium- Antwerp and Brussels.

Apart from Bitcoin, Seety’s users can pay for parking tickets with Ethereum, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and stablecoins such as DAI and Circle’s USD coin (USDC). Seety explained the process of buying the tickets with crypto payments in a statement it issued. The Belgian firm noted that users can use the crypto coins to purchase its credits via an app also provided by Seety. This is when they want to pay for parking spaces. Users will not incur additional costs for using crypto, Seety added.

The aim of Seety is to encourage cryptocurrency adoption via the said application. Additionally, it believes adoption will pick up further speed if cryptocurrencies become climate-friendly such that they can be mined using green energy.
