Gates expressed his reservations that web3 is revolutionary. Although he did not dispute Metaverse input, he responded to a Reddit user inquiry that AI has immense potential that could replicate the internet impact in 2000.

The American tech mogul downplayed the potential of Metaverse unitary input becoming revolutionary. Although Web3 is bringing immense changes, the tech guru ranked the AI effect as unmatched.
The philanthropist who held the ask me anything session emphasized that AI is an exciting addition that is dictating today’s tech innovation. While Gates’ session transversed multiple subjects, including veganism and climate change, he reserved praise for AI breakthroughs. He expressed confidence that the ChatGPT chatbot signaled future AI success.
Inclusion of AI in humanitarians Activities
The philanthropist lauded AI innovation that confessed he is considering integrating it into humanitarian projects. He clarified that Gates Foundation might integrate tutors utilizing AI to assist kids in learning mathematics. He observed that the foundation is prioritizing medical services established upon AI for African recipients.
Gates echoed his previous prediction in 2021 that the metaverse would eventually end the dominance of 2D platforms, including Teams and Zoom. He portrayed admiration for how virtual reality technology advanced remote meetings.
Gates dismissed the viability of non-fungible tokens indicating they mirrored cryptos he believed are founded upon the 100% greater fool theory.
Microsoft Embrace Metaverse Projects
Beyond Gates’ responses during the session, Microsoft, which he co-founded, is recently edging into integrating metaverse. Although Gates is hardly involved in the daily running of Microsoft, the tech corporation joined 34 companies led by Alibaba, Sony and Meta in establishing the Metaverse Standards Forum. The forum targets coordinating an inclusive metaverse ecosystem.
Recently, Microsoft has been edging closer to making virtual meetings a reality. The tech company is holding meetings made available to Meta devices.
Microsoft’s blockchain lead Yorke Rhodes indicated the company is expanding Web3 activities beyond tooling with Ethereum. He dismissed Microsoft assuming the Kingmaker role by adding that the tech company is expanding to other chains to deliver the entire portfolio.
