Coca-Cola Releases NFT Collection For The LGBTQ+ Community

Beverage giant, Coca-Cola, is associating with the LGBTQ+ community by launching an NFT collection (the pride series). According to the announcement, there are 136 unique NFTs in the collection. Launching this collection aims to spread the message of love and inclusivity across the world.

A vocal member of the LGBTQ+ community and designer, rich Mnisi, is the designer of the NFTs in this collection. Coca-Cola chose Mnisi because most of his previous works have centered on identity and community. According to Mnisi, the idea for this collection was through one of his ethos – energy is indestructible.

Minting On Polygon

According to Mnisi, love and energy have one common characteristic – neither can be destroyed. They can change form but are never destroyed. For instance, a person may lock or release his energy. Likewise, a person may change the form of his love from trust to passion, heartbreak, or darkness.

Thus, proving that love is forever permanent and can only change state. Each individual has the power to display any form of these love states. However, Mnisi calls on everyone to always display true love to one another.

Extending Love Toward Charities

One of the objectives Coca-Cola hopes to achieve from this launch is promoting LGBTQ+ colors. The community’s colors have been the symbol through which it has been spreading its love message globally.

Part of the announcement states that all income from the sale of this Series collection over the next 12 months would be donated to charity. However, the charities must be affiliated with the community.

Nevertheless, Mnisi has identified out (a charity home) as one of the beneficiaries of the charity donation. Out is one of the oldest south Africa-based charities. It offers physical and mental healthcare to those unable to afford them. It is also affiliated with the LGBTQ community.

Givenchy Parfums Also Launches An NFT Collection

The France-based luxury perfume and cosmetic firm, Givenchy, is also releasing an NFT series for the LGBTQ+ community in France. Amar Singh (a gallery owner) and Givenchy are the main partners for this release. However, the Rewind Collective (a digital art collective) would also join in releasing the NFTs.

The goal of this series is to increase awareness about the values of respect, inclusion, innovation, and creativity. According to Singh, he was inspired by this NFT collection through Givenchy’s Prisme Libre product.

It is not the first time these three partners have been involved in launching an NFT collection. Their first was a successful NFT collection released last year.
