This apparently was a targeted effort to advertise this new development to people who would already be largely familiar with the dark web, hacking and cryptocurrency.
The United State’s counter-terrorism program has been in effect since 1984 and has since then awarded over $150 million to over 100 informants through the years. While this might seem like a large sum of money to offer just for information, the information given was actionable and led to the capture of criminals which could have caused the country far more losses in lives and infrastructure.
This crypto offer is yet another indicator that the world’s leading superpower is beginning to recognise the utility of cryptocurrency as a medium of trade.
