Cryptocurrency Exchange Gemini Announces Support for HKD, AUD, CAD Fiat Currencies

Winklevoss brothers’ cryptocurrency exchange Gemini has announced today on August 17, 2020, to add trading support for three fiat currencies, the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD), the Canadian Dollar (CAD), and the Australian Dollar (AUD).

HKD, AUD, and CAD are now available on the Gemini platform

As per the official announcement, apart from the United States Dollar (USD), three more fiat currencies HKD, AUD, and CAD are now available on the trading platform of the Gemini exchange. By adding trading support for these currencies, Winklevoss brothers-owned cryptocurrency exchange now has allowed users to begin trading in HKD, AUD, and CAD.

Users of the Gemini exchange present in Hong Kong, Canada, and Australia have now opportunity to use their respective native currencies for buying or selling digital currencies on the exchange’s trading platform. As the official announcement states:

“Now, in addition to the U.S. dollar (USD), Gemini customers in Hong Kong, Australia, and Canada can seamlessly transfer funds into the Gemini Exchange to buy and sell crypto with their native currencies. With HKD, AUD, and CAD, our customers in these locations — and across the world — now have more options on how they choose to manage their currencies and trade crypto. Our expansion into new currency offerings is another step forward in our mission to empower individuals around the world through crypto.”

Furthermore, the announcement states that at the moment, the cryptocurrency exchange has not offered support for HKD, CAD, and AUD fiat currencies via its trading platform called “the Active Trader Platform”. However, the cryptocurrency exchange ensures in the announcement that it will soon make them available.

Gemini is actively working on expanding its offerings as well as its trading platform to bring the attention of new users. Recently, the cryptocurrency exchange made a partnership with Samsung while giving users of the Samsung Blockchain Wallet the facility to use its mobile application for buying, selling, or exchanging digital assets. Now, the addition of three new fiat currencies is likely going to boost the expansion of its platform.
