Cardano has partnered with DJ Paul Oakenfold to launch a tokenized album on on its platform. DJ Paul Oakenfold is a renowned DJ with Electronic Dance Music (EDM). He has an illustrious career in the music industry which extends back to 1980s, and he has been a past three-time Grammy Award nominee.
DJ Paul Oakenfold has an upcoming album ‘Zombie Lobster’ which was announced on September 27 at the Cardano summit. The NFT project Starship Universe, which is managed by Alon Shulman, will be releasing the album ‘Zombie Lobster’. Alon Shulman is a music entrepreneur who also manages DJ’s including Carl Cox.
As part of the collaboration with Cardano, Starship Universe will be releasing thousands of NFTs on Cardano. This move excites Cardano founder, Charles Hoskinson, who welcomes the partnership with Starship Universe as they open new frontiers together. This is an interesting development for Cardano and Starship Universe as they launch their new project.
The release date for the tokenized album is yet to be revealed, though it is suggested that the album should be released soon. Hoskinson changed his profile picture on Twitter to a photo of him working a DJ turn-table.
NFL Partners with Dapper Labs
An official announcement on September 29 confirmed that NFL and Dapper Labs are partnering to launch digital collectibles. This partnership will lead to the creation of digital highlight NFT which will be similar to the well-known NMB Top Shot marketplace.
Steve Scebelo, the president of NFL Players Inc. said that the players are quite excited with this move to make a push into the digital collectibles market by the NFL. And that the irreplaceable nature of the NFT encapsulates what’s special about sports fandom.
Dapper Labs also confirmed this partnership on its Twitter page, it announced that they will be creating exclusive digital video highlight NFTs. This will enable NFL fans to collect their favourite NFL digital collectibles.
DC Join NFT Train
DC partners with Palm NFT Studio in a move to enter the digital collectibles market. They will be releasing tokenized comic book covers showing superheroes such as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, etc. This was reported by Variety on September 29.
DC Comics will be giving away digital collectibles for free and this is a prelude to its upcoming DC FanDome event on October 16. The NFT will be issued to users who have registered for the virtual FanDome event. The free virtual Fandom event will be hosted on multiple platforms including YouTube and Twitch.
This is a new chapter for DC comics as they explore blockchain technology as a medium for engaging fans and telling stories. The NFT to be issued will be of varying number, hence the rarer NFTs will be more valuable. With time, DC Comics will build an impressive collection of digital collectibles which fans will be able to buy.
