DOT And VET Founders Support Ukraine With $10M In Crypto

Ukraine receives more financial aid in its defense against Russia’s invasion. Many top crypto players have donated to this cause. The total amount received from Binance and other crypto donations is over $20M. Now, other crypto project founders are also making financial pledges to Ukraine.

More Donations From Crypto Founders

After posting several crypto wallet addresses soliciting funds as its war against Russia rages on, the world has shown its support for Ukraine, with several donations pouring into those stipulated addresses. Ukraine had to seek help from the world to prevent it from being overpowered by a superior nation (Russia).

Founder of Polkadot (one of the top twenty digital assets), Gavin Wood, has publicly pledged his stance with Ukraine. Under Ukraine’s plea tweet, the DOT founder commented that he would donate $5M in crypto if Ukraine could provide a DOT crypto wallet address.

In the same vein, the founder of Vechain (Sunny Lu) made a similar comment as wood, saying, “I’ll donate $8m when you have a VET wallet set up and provide a VET address. Nothing matters more than people’s life.”

While it is a good gesture that these founders are willing to donate to Ukraine’s cause, it is almost impossible for Ukraine to receive their donations. These founders already gave a condition for which they will give their contribution. The condition is that Ukraine must provide a Vechain and a DOT crypto wallet address. However, Ukraine only provided three crypto wallet addresses, all of which cannot receive crypto donations unless converted to BTC, ETH, or USDT.

More Funding For Ukraine

Ukraine has received more than $20m worth of crypto donations with its campaign not up to 72 hours. Aside from project founders’ contributions, Ukraine has also received many cash gifts from individuals. If the eastern European nation can provide DOT and VET crypto wallet addresses and the respective founders of these projects fulfill their pledges, the number of received funds would exceed $30m quickly.

Since the campaign began, over 70% of the cryptos donated to Ukraine have been in BTC. The latest update on the war is that Ukraine has agreed to peace talks with Russia but declined Russia’s Belarus location for the negotiations. It is yet to be seen whether Russia will agree to a new place for the peace talks.

However, many Airbnb partners have already indicated that they would be ready to provide free accommodation once Airbnb recommends them.
