eBay Begins Hiring for Multiple Web3 Roles After Acquiring KnownOrigin

The popular e-commerce platform eBay has announced hiring new hands to man its several Web3 roles. The latest development comes after the e-commerce giant acquired the NFT marketplace, KnownOrigin.

Ready For The Web3

According to the job posting on LinkedIn, the company is looking to hire capable hands to fill the position of crypto counsel, marketing executive, head of community, and other roles. One of the roles will see the individual focus on serving the NFT marketplace, Knownorigin, and designing the company’s blueprint as it pushes further into the digital collectible space and blockchain technology.

Additionally., the crypto counsel is expected to liaise with others in the tax, intellectual property (IP), and security. As the firm’s legal representative, the lawyer will provide regulatory guidance for the company as it dives deeper into the Web3 ecosystem.

It is worth noting that KnownOrigin is among the NFT pioneers, which empowers the new generation of digital creators to express themselves, find more audiences, and earn income from their passion.

The bear market woes over the past months did not deter the e-commerce outlet from moving into the non-digital tokens space. Similarly, eBay launched a collection of hockey-themed NFT tokens last May on the OneOf platform.

Last week, eBay partnered with Notable Live, the fan engagement firm, to onboard users into the digital collection ecosystem.

NFT In E-Commerce

In a similar move to e-Bay, Amazon also announced that its subsidiary, Amazon Web Service (AWS), is hiring experienced hands to boost its Web3 expansion. The company recently posted the job openings on LinkedIn, seeking a Senior GTM Specialist to work on its Web3 platform.

AWS has developed multi-purpose tools for blockchain firms looking to operate a centralized ledger database capable of maintaining secure and cryptographic-based transactions. In addition, the AWS range of devices can also be utilized to manage blockchain protocols that would help eliminate intermediaries.

According to the AWS website, a fraction of all Ethereum nodes operates on the AWS servers, making it one of the leading Web3 solution providers. According to TechCrunch, AWS is the leading cloud infrastructure provider controlling 34% of the global market in the third quarter of 2022.

The emergence of Web3 has revolutionized the e-commerce industry, with firms focusing on leveraging technology to boost their businesses and increase profits. With many e-commerce brands already part of the NFT bandwagon, industry observers believe the changes may not be rapid.

But the subtle and steady move has been noticeable. Thus, Web3 has begun to change the pace of the e-commerce sector with its transformative and seamless transaction that has captured the audience’s imagination and is gaining traction.

An essential part of the future is how brands can increase their customer base and enhance their presence using the digital collectible space.
