Eco App Unveils Beam Wallet Integrating Web2 and Web3

Andressen-backed Eco App is unveiling a unique wallet that interlinks Web2 at the front and crypto at the back. The Eco’s second product targets to onboard into the mainstream ecosystem.

Web3 Technology Propels Web2 Interface in Beam Wallet

The chief executive officer of Eco App and Beam, Andy Bromberg, revealed they were creating the first mainstream utilizable payment wallet. Beam Wallet, the firm’s second product, has been released today. Despite being designed similarly to a simple Web2 interface, it has some years of Web3 technology running beneath the surface.

It operates upon Optimism, the Ethereum-founded layer-2 rollup, and will consider Coinbase’s Base network set to be unveiled next month. Most people are talking about account abstraction, which underscores Beam and has also been executed on Ethereum through EIP-4337. Additionally, it seeks to ease crypto transactions similar to mail conversations.

Bromberg Lauds Eco Protocol for Expanding Digital Asset Opportunities

Bromberg is a contributor to the Eco Protocol who hyped the upgrade by envisaging its ability to open opportunities for other cryptos as an essential part of the wallet. Additionally, he predicted that proto-dank sharding is a forthcoming upgrade. He decried that despite Bitcoin’s existence for almost 15 years, the crypto industry has yet to experience anything as simple as cash.

Bromberg explained that they combined Web 2 and 3 and divulged that via Beam, the organization has made something wholly mainstream and not compromised anything crucial. This includes the industry’s core beliefs, for instance, censorship resistance, decentralization, and self-custody.

Bromberg revealed that Beam Wallet seeks to isolate the confusion and highlighted addresses as one of the main pain points of crypto. The answer is emoji-founded usernames that had considerable success during the testing phase. He explained that at this time, a bundle of questions was provided to the crypto-native crowd to further the developers understanding.

Eco’s Onramp Ready for Mainstream Implementation

Eco is supported by major industry players, for instance, Pantera, Andreessen Horowitz, and Coinbase Ventures. Additionally, it considers A-list celebrities, for instance, Kevin Durant, Diddy, and Carmelo Anthony, for support.

Bromberg claims they intend to focus on their celebrity-investor support since the product is founded on the ‘onramp for the truly mainstream.’ He also claimed this move comes amid users starting to ‘question all things centralized,’, especially after last year’s spectacular collapse of FTX. Bromberg added that a majority of persons are beginning to think ‘perhaps self-custody is crucial.’

Eco chief calls a majority of wallets ‘generalized’ owing to the belief that they do too much. On the other hand, Beam prioritizes simplicity, which entails permitting fast and simple payments. Besides, it focuses on stablecoins, and all transactions involve a fixed fee regime.
