Entertix, Romania’s Biggest Ticketing Platform Now Accepts DOGE, XRP

On Thursday, October 13, 2022, Binance founder Changpang Zhao (CZ) announced via Twitter that Binance Pay was now available on Entertix. He added that supported cryptocurrencies could be used to purchase tickets for teams such as Binance-sponsored FC Rapid Bucuresti and other events.

He noted this was another decisive step in pushing crypto adoption. Entertix is a Romania-based ticketing and event management platform where users can buy tickets to sporting events and movie theaters within Romania.

Companies like Travala.com and L’Exception currently use Binance Pay, Binance’s cryptocurrency payment technology. This technology enables users to perform transactions with crypto and send and receive crypto anywhere in the world. The Binance Pay platform became operational in February 2021 and currently supports more than 40 cryptocurrencies, including XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.

Binance’s Crypto Adoption Efforts

Entertix is the latest partnership Binance has inked in recent months as it keeps making efforts toward enhancing crypto adoption. Last month, Palazzo Versace, a Dubai-based luxury hotel, recruited Binance as its cryptocurrency infrastructure provider. Thus, guests could pay for dining, stays, and spa experiences using selected cryptocurrencies.

Entertix’s adoption of crypto payments for ticket purchases also follows AMC Theatres’ integration of Shiba Inu and Dogecoin payments via BitPay into its website. AMC CEO Adam Aron announced in April that customers could start buying movie tickets on the official AMC mobile app with Shiba Inu and Dogecoin.

Cryptocurrency adoption is rising globally and doesn’t show signs of slowing down anytime soon. More companies are reaching out to existing payment providers or starting their cryptocurrency divisions to oversee crypto transactions.

In May 2022, luxury tour operator Scott Dunn announced its cooperation with Nuvei, another cryptocurrency payment provider. The exclusive travel operator will receive a comprehensive global payment solution from Nuvei, including payment orchestration and smart routing. Through this collaboration, owners of the Nuvei-supported cryptocurrencies may now reserve custom getaways and honeymoons with Scott Dunn using cryptocurrency.

Similarly, Canadian food tech company WeCook, (a pioneer of the food subscription model) has also partnered with Nuvei to integrate cryptocurrency as an alternative payment method for their services. This allows their customers to pay for meals using over 40 cryptocurrencies supported by Nuvei, including XRP and DOGE.

Dogecoin owners can also use BitPay technology to pay for UberEats food deliveries. Wolf & Company, a Boston-based accounting firm, accepts payments in Shiba Inu, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and other cryptocurrencies via BitPay’s technology.
