Free TON Blockchain
The TON community titled Free TON community is launching Free TON blockchain today that will not be controlled by the Telegram.
The community is developing a new blockchain on Telegram Open Network but based on the Declaration of Decentralization. As the TON, the crypto project initiated by Telegram is facing many difficulties in the legal process. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) does not want from the Telegram to launch TON and to distribute the tokens. Due to SEC’s lawsuits pressure, the CEO of Telegram announces to launch TON in April 2021.
The Network is Based on Principles of Declaration of Decentralization
The community of TON decides to launch a decentralized network on its own, having native cryptocurrency that will distribute among those who are signing the Declaration of Decentralization (DOD). The Free TON community is comprised of developers, validators, and users. They are making a combined effort to launch “Free TON Blockchain” on May 7. According to the TON Labs, the tokens will also distribute, but the procedure will be fully decentralized with no influence from the parent company.
“Since we believe in freedom of speech, in information sharing, and in free software, we have decided to give the power back to the community and unanimously proclaim the launch of the Free TON blockchain and the Free TON Crystal (or TON for short) as its native token.”
No Role of Telegram
There will be no connection between the coming crypto project and the Telegram. According to the Free TON community:
“Legal proceedings in the U.S. mean that Telegram, the initial creator of TON (Telegram/The Open Network) blockchain, can no longer be involved […] We hope that Free TON will promote the values of the free market, personal data protection, decentralized governance, censorship resistance and cooperation around the world.”
Anyone can join the Free TON Community as a user, validator, or developer after signing the DOD document. However, there is a temporary restriction for the US which might be removed after the successful launching of the blockchain network:
“However, as we grow to achieve full decentralization, all such barriers will be removed organically. There will no longer be any centralized authority in a position to even attempt to answer questions about who can or cannot join.”
