Application for Low-Cost COVID-19 Tests

The blockchain community is helping out the medical professionals in eradicating the Coronavirus from the world by offering potential solutions. The blockchain development company behind EOS, Block.one, reveals today that they have given $50k to the blockchain firm Genobank.io to develop an app that will help in Coronavirus testing.

App in Cooperation with Telos Foundation

Telos Foundation will play its part in developing the open-source application named as Agerona. The agenda behind the creation of the app is to help people in navigating low-cost COVID-19 tests. People can also get results via this app and can share it with medical professionals as well as researchers. The fund of Block.one is released through the EOS VC Grants program that is backed by EOS Global and FinLab EOS VC.

Daniel Uribe, the CEO of Genobank.io, said:

“As an EOS VC Grants recipient, we are grateful to have the backing and support of Block.one’s venture arm EOS VC in aiding our efforts to anonymized DNA/RNA test kits (including coronavirus), while empowering patients and users to decide if they want their anonymized data to be available to the scientific community and help control the spread of the coronavirus and potentially contribute to a treatment.”

Genobank.io is not the first company to receive aid from the Block.one but EOS’s blockchain developer has already donated to various firms in combating Coronavirus. Brendan Blumer, the CEO of Block.one, said,”We’ve witnessed the growth of an open source community whose passion and innovation have helped to identify and solve critical business problems in sectors ranging from art to wellness.”
