Google Cloud Partnering with Tezos Foundation Blockchain in Developing Web3 Technology

Google Cloud statement conveyed on February 22 confirmed its partnership with Tezos Foundation. The partnership aims to make Google Cloud a critical validator on the Tezos network.

Partnership with Tezos Foundations to Expand Google Cloud’s Web3 bow

The partnership expands Google Cloud’s computing scope to the US tech giant’s Web3 bow. In particular, Google Cloud is to assume a network validator role on the swiss-based Tezos blockchain

A statement issued by Tezos Foundation on February 22 revealed that the Swiss non-profit foundation lauded the opportunity to collaborate with Google Cloud.

Mutually Benefiting Partnership Involving Google Cloud and Tezos Foundation

The partnership is set to facilitate customers utilizing the cloud computing business suite to deploy Tezos-based nodes. Also, the customers are set to leverage access to the Tezos blockchain to create Web3 applications.

Tezos involves a blockchain-based platform for establishing smart contracts. It rivals Ethereum and Cardano in powering decentralized applications. Tezos blockchain has emerged as a popular alternative for corporations, including Ubisoft gaming giant and the Department of Motor Vehicles in California.

Superior Hosting Capabilities and Remote Procedure Call Nodes

The new partnership will facilitate developers and entities with superior hosting capabilities. Additionally, entities can deploy the remote procedure call nodes targeting the Web3 application utilizing Google Cloud’s infrastructure and Tezos blockchain.

The statement from both parties unanimously revealed that Tezos Foundation would avail its corporate baking program to all Google Cloud customers. The program is projected to enable customers to leverage the Tezos blockchain to create Web3 applications. Also, the baking program will enable Google Cloud customers to easily deploy nodes and establish indexers within the Tezos protocol.

Incubating Startups while Expediting Institutional Adoption of Web3 Tech

Incubator startups within the Tezos blockchain would benefit from the partnership through Google Cloud credits. Also, the select startups would utilize the Google mentorship initiative offered under the Startups Cloud Program.

The lead engineering executive at the Web3 department of Google Cloud, James Tromans, indicated that Web3 developers could access the reliable infrastructure. Besides security, the Web3 founders can utilize the infrastructure and resources to scale applications.

The chief commercial officer of the Tezos Foundation, Mason Edwards, considers the partnership a great milestone towards expediting institutional adoption of Web3 technology. He added that both parties would benefit through facilitated access to mass-market opportunities for their existing products and services when integrated with Web3 technology.

Google Cloud’s Pursuit of Blockchain-powered Innovations

The partnership with Tezos Foundations marks the pinnacle of Google Cloud efforts that began in January 2022 by assembling a team of blockchain experts. The unit’s primary agenda involved pursuing growth and advancement opportunities within the blockchain ecosystem.

The team assembled by Google Cloud would also facilitate clients to generate, exchange, preserve value and launch novel products established on the blockchain-powered platforms.

Meanwhile, the Tezos Foundation partnership mirrors the October 2022 move when Google Cloud collaborated with Near Protocol. The Near Foundation considered the partnership with Google Cloud would offer infrastructural support for Pagoda being a Web3 startup platform on the Near protocol.

A similar announcement by Google on October 27 indicated the tech giant was introducing a blockchain node engine (BNE) developed by an in-house team. BNE would serve node-hosting services allowing Web3 companies to execute transactions. The BNE would expedite the deployment of smart contracts and the writing of blockchain data on Google Cloud.
