Huawei Cloud announced this alliance at the Asia-Pacific Partner Leadership symposium, which took place in Indonesia on February 23rd and 24th. About 100 clients and partners of Huawei Cloud from the Asia-Pacific region, which includes China Telecom, China Mobile, and China Unicom, attended the event.

Besides, Huawei views Web3 and the metaverse alliance as significant, given that this technology is crucial to the company’s strategy. Apart from promoting cooperation among members, the partners will have access to Huawei’s extensive user base for cloud services.

This would provide valuable exposure and enable interested parties to establish new business relationships. Notably, Huawei said its partnership would concentrate more on Web3 and Metaverse concepts, distinguishing it from other collaborations between cryptocurrency projects and cloud service providers.

Per Huawei’s statement, the alliance’s primary objective is to build a comprehensive ecosystem in the two associated domains, with partners working together to deliver users a broad range of specialized solutions and infrastructure.

Chinese Journalist Attacks Huawei’s Selection

A prominent Chinese journalist, Colin Wu, attacked Huawei Cloud’s alliance selection. According to Wu, the selection suggests that the company does not understand the crypto sector.

Wu further commented that certain members of the alliance have a negative reputation. However, he did not specify the members he referred to or the reasons behind their poor standing.

Nevertheless, some of Wu’s followers insinuated that he might be referring to Polygon. On the other hand, Tencent Cloud has also shown great interest in the Web3 space.

The company recently announced its dedication to advancing and nurturing the Web3 ecosystem. It also acknowledged that many entities are interested in Web3 and metaverse technologies.

Tencent Cloud showed its commitment to Web3 and metaverse technology in Singapore at the Web3 Build Day program. The company revealed its latest creation at the event, the Metaverse-in-a-Box offering.

In addition, Tencent Cloud introduced a comprehensive development roadmap that outlines a series of blockchain API services that will lay the foundation for Web3 developers. Moreover, Tencent Cloud and Ankr have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop blockchain API services jointly.
