Lamina 1 Co-Founders Appoint Rebecca Barkin as the New CEO

The layer-1 blockchain firm Lamina 1 has announced Rebecca Barkin as the new chief executive officer. The newly appointed chief executive joined Lamina last August and has served as the firm’s president.

Change in Leadership

After the long wait for a new CEO to join the Lamina group, the chairman Neal Stephenson promoted the acting president to the chief executive position on January 25. Stephenson, in his report, confirmed that Rebecca Barkin was a suitable candidate after demonstrating her exponential abilities in her previous role.

Barkin, the acting president, would be expected to be in charge of the operation of the Layer-1 blockchain firm. She is tasked to pursue suitable business partners and facilitate fundraising for Lamina’s ongoing projects. Barkin is expected to maintain a strong relationship with developers and formulate the company’s product development framework.

Lamina 1 Recent Development

Besides changes in Lamina’s leadership, the company has been making remarkable efforts in the crypto realm. Stephenson and his team launched the Lamina 1 Ecosystem Fund, known as L1EF. The team behind the L1EF project modified the system to enable users to raise funds for their Metaverse projects. Their contributions aimed at improving the firm’s Web3 activities.

In December 2022, the L1EF was a success when funds drawn from the Lamina AngelList were issued to the Metaverse developers on a rolling basis.

Afterwards, Lamina’s co-founder Peter Vessenes issued a report to the crypto community disclosing the company plans. As per Vessenes’ report, the layer-1 firm intends to invest more in innovative digital assets such as NFTs collections, DAO ecosystem, DeFi, gaming and music feature.

At the moment, Vessenes proposed plans have been put into action by the Lamina developers. The company will launch the Testnet protocol to the Lamina community in a few months.

Barkin’s Contribution to Crypto Growth

Barkin is an expert in VR and AI technologies, which has moved her career to a pinnacle point to blossom. Her indispensable abilities gained recognition at Magic Leap AR technologies, where Barkin served as the Vice president. Before that, Barkin was the marketing manager at a US-based AI company Nods Labs.

She worked at Madison Square Garden as a vice president before joining Lamina. Barkin’s career continues to advance since she will work closely with Stephenson and Vessenes, Lamina’s executive team. The two executives are also the founders of the American NGO Bitcoin Foundation.
