Messaging giant LINE launches blockchain development platform LINE Blockchain Developers and cryptocurrency wallet called BITMAX Wallet.
To provide a reliable and secure platform for developers to offer blockchain services, LINE introduces a platform called LINE Blockchain Developers. According to LINE:
“LINE Blockchain Developers is a development platform that provides an easy and efficient way for developers to build blockchain services based on LINE Blockchain. Blockchain technology can also be readily added to existing services for one-of-a-kind token economies. The developer console itself is a web-based environment offered through LINE’s own developer web portal, LINE Developers.”
Moreover, developers as well as companies can also benefit from other features besides blockchain. “With this platform, companies and developers can focus their attention on improving UX and other facets of their service instead of the technical aspects of blockchain and security,” the announcement added.
Wallet for Digital Assets Management
A blockchain wallet called BITMAX for the management of digital assets is also introduced by the Japan-based messaging giant. With the wallet, users of the company can receive digital assets from other blockchains via LINE blockchain.
“BITMAX Wallet is a blockchain wallet for managing digital assets. Users can centrally manage all the digital assets—tokens, items, and more—that they have obtained from various blockchain services within the one wallet.”
There is a simple way to open wallets as users need only their LINE IDs. “BITMAX Wallet on the other hand, is linked to LINE IDs. This means that users only need a LINE ID to get started right away and can easily send and trade digital assets with their LINE friends,” LINE stated.
Limitation of Wallet
The blockchain platform for developers will available globally in English and the Japanese language. But the digital wallet of the company has limitations as it is available only in Japan.
LINE started working over blockchain technology when it launched the LINE Blockchain Lab to explore the potential of blockchain via dApps, P2P distributed systems and encrypted technologies. Cryptocurrency exchanges, Japan-based Mitmax and US-based BitFront- are also included in the projects of LINE.
