Miami City To Release 5000 ETH NFTs
According to the announcement, Miami’s city’s Mayor said the city will issue over 5000 NFTs. About 56 local artists in the city will design them to represent the beauty of the region’s 56 sq mi area.
Additionally, the NFT project aims to drive more revenue to local businesses and charities in the city. The Mayor said the city would partner with Mastercard, a famous payment service provider.
Through the Mastercard partnership, NFT holders will enjoy various perks. Also, Mastercard will offer a turn-key utility that will grant the NFT holders access to the Priceless Miami Program by Mastercard.
They can visit events at the Miami restaurants, take tours of the city’s cultural institutions, etc. Mastercard’s Chief Marketing officer, Raja Rajamannar, said the firm is happy to work with the Mayor and to help local businesses.
Furthermore, Time Magazine will take charge of the strategy, develop creatives, and launch the whole program. According to TIME’s President, Keith Grossman, this will allow the city to connect with visitors and residents.
Grossman acknowledged the city’s exploit in the web3 sector. He said the company also looks forward to working with other companies in the web3 space.
Salesforce Will Mint And Sell The NFTs
Meanwhile, the duty of Salesforce will be to mint and sell the NFTs through the NFT cloud. NFT cloud is a new initiative that is still in the pilot state.
It is built to help companies deliver wonderful experiences across the digital and physical worlds. Adam Caplan, a representative for Salesforce, said the company is happy to be part of the project.
The Mayor, while talking about the project, said he was thrilled to be a pioneer of such an initiative in Miami. Suarez believes this will increase the revenue of local artists in the city.
Also, he said the city would keep employing these nascent technologies to support businesses in the city. He will also work to attract new companies and provide greater experiences for the people.
Meanwhile, Miami’s latest NFT project will take place in December. This is after ETH must have transitioned from the PoW to the PoS consensus mechanism.
The long-awaited merge, which reports says will occur in September, will reduce the carbon footprint of ETH. Also, it would allow the blockchain to adopt more environmentally friendly web3 practices.
