The American multinational technology company Microsoft is planning on introducing a new cryptocurrency system which will let individuals use their body activity for mining cryptocurrencies.
On March 26, the technology giant Microsoft filed a patent titled, “Cryptocurrency system using body activity data” desiring to replace the old crypto mining system that uses computational power for mining cryptocurrencies with a new cryptocurrency mining system which will rely on body heat for mining cryptocurrency.
Body heat will serve as a proof-of-work
According to the patent published by Microsoft, the human body heat will serve as a proof-of-work in this innovative mining system. The body activity data such as the heat emitted as a result of any human activity will be used for mining.
“a brain wave or body heat emitted from the user when the user performs the task provided by an information or service provider, such as viewing an advertisement or using certain internet services, can be used in the mining process.”
How this innovative mining system will work?
The current mining system relies on computational work. However, in this innovative mining system, there is no need for any kind of computational power, users would be able to solve computational problems unconsciously i.e. they can mine cryptocurrency while watching ads.
This system will work via a server commanding to a wearable device. A crypto system will verify whether the body activity data indicated by the special body sensor satisfies the conditions or not. According to the patent:
“Body activity data may be generated based on the sensed body activity of the user. A cryptocurrency system communicatively coupled to the device of the user may verify whether or not the body activity data satisfies one or more conditions set by the cryptocurrency system, and award cryptocurrency to the user whose body activity data is verified.”
We cannot surely say whether this is possible or not however the patent reveals the intentions of the technology giant Microsoft to create its own body-heat powered cryptocurrency. If it happens, it will be a massive achievement for Microsoft and it will bring an evolution in the crypto space.
