Michael Saylor, the past CEO and the current chairman of MicroStrategy, has revealed the company’s plan for 2023. According to him, the company wants to launch a BTC Lightning-built software and other solutions next year.

Michael Saylor Reveals MicroStrategy’s Plans For 2023

While speaking during a recent Twitter Spaces discussion, Saylor said MicroStrategy is exploring different solutions and software that employs the BTC Lightning Network. They include solutions that allow cybersecurity website solutions and enterprise marketing for corporate firms.

The Lightning Network is an L2 protocol built on Bitcoin’s blockchain. The protocol lowers transaction fees and increases payment throughput.

Recall that a few months ago, MicroStrategy announced that it wanted to hire a software engineer to develop a Lightning Network-based SaaS platform.

Meanwhile, Saylor said chief marketing officers could use BTC’s Lightning Network to give Satoshi rewards to those who engage with their content. This includes the completion of surveys or posting good reviews on their products.

In addition, Saylor noted that MicroStrategy is working to ensure more companies can deploy Lightning facilities in multiple ways. The Bitcoin proponent also referred to his previous idea on “Lightning wall” cybersecurity.

The Lightning wall is a BTC-based paywall that will safeguard websites against cybersecurity attacks. Visitors will have to deposit some Satoshi before they can access the website.

According to Saylor, customers who want to access confidential business websites would have to pay “100,000 satoshis” to “ensure” safe passage. The website reimburses this to the user after they have completed their session on the website.

He pointed out that credit cards are unable to offer such services. This is because of the delays involved in obtaining cash back. “Credit cards will not allow you to send $20 to over 100 websites every day and return the $20 in a second,” Saylor added.

Saylor Praises The Lightning Network

Furthermore, Saylor argued that someone would soon create a Lightning version of the “Netscape browser.” The ex-CEO of MicroStrategy believes the version will have a Lightning wallet that can hold different cryptos and even fiat currencies such as the USD.

Saylor argued that such a wallet could house a user base of over 100 million people. However, he said the developer must create it as a non-custodial wallet.

As the Twitter Spaces conversation continued, the entrepreneur praised the Lightning Network. He dubbed it the “internet of money,” citing how the technology has progressed over the years.

According to him, the company’s team is developing the network and will launch something new in 2023. He expressed optimism that the new product should be out in Q1 2023.

Saylor is well known for its unending support for Bitcoin. However, many individuals have criticized him for supporting the flagship currency.

Earlier in October, Eric Wall, the Chief Investment Officer at Arcane Assets, argued that Saylor has never carried out up to three Lightning transactions. The Bitcoin supporter responded to the criticism citing that he has done far more.
