NFT Whale Offloads Expensive Collections At A Discounted Rate

The crypto industry’s non-fungible tokens (NFTs) sub-sector is also experiencing a downturn like the broader crypto space. Many NFT holders, whether sole owners or part-owners, are beginning to auction their NFTs at discounted prices

Their actions bring an array of opportunities for investors and community members. On November 11, Deepak Thapliyal, a collector of some of the biggest and rarest NFTs, announced his intention to sell off his collections. Deepak added that he’d sell his lot to the highest bidder.

He added that he would adopt a fractional ownership strategy if he could not sell his whole NFT collection. He plans to place his lot in a fractional DAO, enabling selling off 80% of ownership to interested community members. At the moment, Deepak’s asking price for its NFTs is 8000 ETH or $10 million based on current exchange rates.

It is, however, unknown why the Guinness World Records failed to enlist Beeple’s sale of its NFT collection (Everyday: the first 5000) Beeple earned nearly $70 million during this sale in March last year.

Deepak’s massive collections include 10 Tiffany punk NFT collections, including the famous Alien Tiffany Punk 5822. In addition, the collector recently added the Gold Ape 232 and six others from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collections, plus three Mutant Apes.

He has an array of virtual land plots and owns helix.eth (an ENS name). CryptoPunk #5822 is currently the most expensive NFT on the OpenSea NFT marketplace. The laser eyes BAYC 9452 is the second most expensive NFT on this famous NFT marketplace and is listed at 347 wETH.
