The group received lots of money, making its present stance around 658 BTC, which it got from supporters.

The group leader, whose name is Alexei Navalny, currently enjoys widespread endorsement as some people work towards the nation’s party change. Since the party started receiving funding through Bitcoin in 2016, it has received around $32 million in total.
The large amount shows that some people want a government change and are doing everything possible to achieve that feat. Navalny has to face Putin’s party, which currently heads major places in the Russian government. Some experts explained that cryptocurrencies facilitated Russian citizens’ hunger for true democracy in the region and would continue to help people fight against authoritarian governments. The party spent some of its cryptos for the party’s campaign, and that could mean that it might not have surged to the present $47,000 before it went out of the wallet.
Interestingly, the wallet currently has only $300, which shows that the party needs more donations to bring democracy to the European country. A human rights expert, Alex Gladstein, said that the government has full control of the banking system in countries like Russia. Still, Bitcoin allows people to access funds even during protests and other issues.
Alexei Navalny’s history as the country’s opposition
Navalny’s party is one of the region’s strongest opposition that started the battle against Putin’s government several years ago. Since then, the leader has faced numerous problems, like how he got poisoned in Siberia in late 2020. The leader said that Putin was behind the poisoning, but the Russian president denied his claims.
The leader was very sick, and he spent months recovering from the poisoning in Germany, where he received treatments. Things worsened for the leader because immediately he touched down from his trip to Germany, the Russian police arrested and held him in custody. Many supporters in Russia went to the streets to protest against the injustice while asking for the leader’s release.
The supporters increased crypto donations when he got arrested for aiding his release from custody. Another thing that got the attention of some crypto analytics firms is the one BTC donation received after his return, which is currently worth $47,000.
