SHIB Lead Dev Disavows New Token
The lead developer of SHIB, the cryptocurrency token inspired by the Japanese dog breed, has warned about a new copycat token.
The SHIB Lead Dev tweeted a message on social media claiming he has been flooded with inquiries about the $PAW meme token. In addition, he set the record straight by stating that he is not affiliated with PAW in any way and does not own any of them.
According to the developer, the Shiba Inu Token is an impostor project that has attempted to counterfeit SHIB’s branding and community.
Kusama Speaks Out on PAW Token
Nonetheless, Twitter ecosystem news spreader Dezaxe shared a link to Etherscan, which revealed an October 2022 transfer of 2 billion Shiba Inu tokens from Shytoshi’s wallet to an address holding PAW tokens. Further, Dezaxe suggested that instead of Shytoshi making demeaning remarks, he should concentrate on developing Shibarium, a Layer-2 protocol for SHIB.
In contrast, @martinDouglas_ clarified that the wallet in question did not belong to Kusama, as previously thought, but to @Web3Queenie, a community manager of the Shiba Eternity game.
Notably, Dezaxe released a screenshot of Kusama’s most recent Telegram statement about $PAW, in which she stated that everything was fine. In the screenshot, Kusama claimed that the $PAW coin is authentic and supported by an excellent team. He continued by saying that he merely wanted to clarify that he had no connection to the token.
A Quick Overview of PAW Tokens
PAW is a coin established by the PawZone project, actively creating an NFT marketplace for Shibarium. Although his project has been around for more than a year, JD, the founder, recently posted on Twitter to voice his worries about another PAW coin being released by someone else.
JD claims that the developers of the new PAW token stole his ticker, which he independently developed. He is concerned that they are attempting to capitalize on his growing popularity. For elaborating on his thoughts on the PAW token, JD appreciated the time and effort put in by Shytoshi Kusama.
