UFX Exchange Loses Closed Account Lawsuit To Craig Wright’s Wife
Outside his claims that he is the pseudonymous founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, Craig Wright has gained popularity over his litigious nature. As it would appear, his wife has milked off Craig Wright’s traits along the years that they have been married.
Confirming the traits, a recent court has ruled in favor of the Bitcoin SV proponent’s wife in a recent lawsuit. Craig Wright’s wife, Ramona Ang, tasted victory in a recent case between her crypto exchange and UFX exchange platform.
UFX closed Ang’s account because her husband was controlling it
The recent ruling was confirmed at the United Kingdom high court, presided by the honorable Judge Justice Butcher. Justice Butcher confirmed Ang’s victory in the lawsuit against Reliantco, an operator based in Cyprus with affiliations to the UFX crypto exchange.
After years of inactivity, Ang charged the operator to court after they closed her account without returning her funds. Before the ruling, the Judge mentioned that the crypto exchange has failed to establish a fact beyond doubt that Ang was not the initial user of the account like it claimed.
The Cyprus-based crypto exchange platform told the court that the account was closed after discovering that it was Wright that was accessing the account on different occasions. The crypto exchange said that weight has been using his wife’s account to move funds since they closed his account.
Furthermore, the crypto exchange mentioned that they had to close to the account that Wright held on the platform because he was slammed with fraud-related charges. Notably, the UFX crypto exchange told the court that Wright’s $10,000 balance on the platform was returned to the Bitcoin SV proponent.
Ang told the court to mandate UFX to pay $2,643,020
The firm said when they confirmed their suspicion of Wright using his wife’s account, they closed her account without paying back the previous balance she held on the platform. In the lawsuit filed by Ramona Ang, she asked the court to mandate the crypto exchange to pay a total of $708,857.
According to Ang’s breakdown of the fee, she said that she had initially deposited $400,000 in the platforms Bitcoin futures, and the remaining fees would be the gains she would have earned for the period that her account was closed was totaled to be over $300,000.
Ang claimed that if she had invested the money in crypto exchange Kraken as planned, she would have gained over $1.3 million in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. Rounding off the figure, Ang asked the court to be compensated with around $2 million.
Giving his ruling, the Judge mentioned that most of what Ang claimed was not right and baseless, but there was no critical evidence that showed that Ang was not the one accessing the account. This means that UFX will need to refund her all the money that they owe her.
