Wirex, a cryptocurrency payment platform based in the United Kingdom had recently completed its crowdfunding round in which it said to have raised an amount of over $4.3 million in funds. The firm revealed in a press release that its crowdfunding round closed fifteen days before it was scheduled to end.
Nearly 7,000 Investors participated in the funding round
The United Kingdom-based payment firm said that its latest crowdfunding round saw a participation of around 7,000 investors who came from across 94 countries. With their investments, the firm was able to secure an amount of $1.2 million worth of funds within the duration of just ninety minutes. It was this large incoming of investors that made this funding round more successful with more than $4.3 million worth of funds raised in it and that it closed earlier before its scheduled time.
Even, Wirex was able to surpass by over 370 percent its basic crowdfunding target that it had set initially to achieve through this funding round. The firm thanked those investors who participated in this round and made it successful for the company.
While commenting on this achievement, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Wirex Pavel Matveev said in a statement:
“We’ve had an overwhelming response from users around the world wanting to invest in Wirex. Our performance so far has proven to investors that we are making incredible advances in the fintech and crypto spaces, and this growth will only continue.”
Expansion Plans of Wirex
Wirex might use the amount of funds raised in the crowdfunding round for its expansion plans that it has set up for the near future. The firm is planning on launching a multicurrency MasterCard very soon. Also, it has said to roll out an upgrade for its reward scheme as well.
A total of five more digital assets have also been launched by Wirex in Eastern European Countries. To open up a user base in the United States as well as in Japan during the next few months is also included in the plans of the firm.
