Ukraine Plans To Launch TV Series To Educate Its Citizens About Blockchain Technology

In a strategic move to create awareness about blockchain and digital assets across the country, the Ukrainian government announced a new development. According to its recent newsletter, the Ukrainian government said that the Ministry of Digital Transformation would launch a new series that will educate everyone across the country on the potentials and benefits of adopting digital assets and blockchain technology.

The recent briefing where the move was agreed upon was conducted on November 27 and can be found on the Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine’s youtube channel. In the briefing that took place, experts in the field took their time to explain to the cabinet of ministers what tye technology is, how it is being operated, and who needs it.

New series to begin with background knowledge about blockchain

The experts went further into several key details, such as the benefits that the country stands to gain from the technology if it is deployed. They also talked about government regulations and the impact it has had on the regulation of the blockchain and digital assets sector.

The organizer of the TV series is the Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, Valeria Lonan. According to Lonan, the new project that boasts 40 educational films will be rolled out as part of a project named “Digital Education Action.”

Furthermore, Lonan said that the beginning stages would talk about blockchain technology fundamentals before going into more complex parts. Also, the new project will use a Digital Education Hackathon to encourage users to be innovative in the blockchain field using engagements. The minister also noted that the project born in 2018, out of the need to foster digital education, will see the TV series teach digital literacy to about 6 million Ukrainian citizens over the next three years.

“When we surveyed around last year December, we realized that the number of Ukraine citizens with digital literacy was just 53%, a figure below our projected figure. This project was specifically created to bridge this gap,” Valeria said.

Ukrainian government hopes its citizens can embrace this opportunity

The Ukrainian government has been showing positive signs towards adopting digital assets for a long time to encourage its citizens to embrace blockchain technology. Also, regulators across Ukraine are on good terms with crypto-related businesses to further encourage adoption.

The emergence of the coronavirus pandemic is also a major factor why governments across the globe turned to Bitcoin and other forms of digital payments. The World Health Organization specifically announced countries to embrace digital payments such as Bitcoin and the likes to limit the number of times people make contact.
