“Wolf of Wall Street” Enters the NFT World, WWE Plans NFT Release

The NFT community has a new member; the real-life Wolf of Wall Street, Jordan Belfort, and he is excited to be a part of it. The former stockbroker took to Twitter to announce his entry into NFTs, expressing his excitement at being a part of it.

A former critic of the cryptocurrency industry, Belfort was known for his heavy condemnation of the industry. He often called bitcoin a scam; in 2018 he compared it to a fraud that his firm perpetuated in the late 90s. His outlash on the cryptocurrency industry caused quite a number of unrest among enthusiasts who supported the new digital money system.

But the 59-year-old ex-broker has now had an apparent turnaround of opinion as he announced his first step into the industry through the NFTS portal. In a tweet sent to his 600,000 followers, Belfort announced that he just bought a CryptoPunk NFT, #6033, for 102.49 ETH on OpenSea, one of the top NTFs marketplaces. The CryptoPunk #6033 is a male vaping with a durag on. Belfort added that now that he was in the NFT place, he is not going to leave anytime soon.

Belfort had earlier announced his plan to release a collection of NTFs inspired by memes from the movie, The Wolf of Wall Street, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio and told his life story on the screen. The NFT will be announced after he concludes plans on token ownership and distribution. Belfort’s announcement indicates the impact of NFTs on the general opinion of the cryptocurrency industries. He joins a growing number of popular individuals including actors, musicians, athletes, etc. who are embracing NFTs.

WWE Plans Summer Slam NFT

Foremost Wrestling company, WWE, has announced its plans to release an NFT collection. The collection will be released in partnership with Blockchain Creative Labs and will contain NFTs of special moments, stars, and events throughout WWE history. The wrestling company will also launch an NFT marketplace for the collection, a move that suggests that it wants to approach the NFTs release in a better way after the previous attempt failed. WWE’s John Cena had announced the launch of his licensed NFT in September. The launch was a failure as only 7.4% of it was purchased.

Will NFTs Change Crypto?

Many people are unclear about cryptocurrencies and NFTs hence the question about the impact of NFTs on the cryptocurrency industry. Although cryptocurrencies and NFTs are digital tokens, they are not strictly similar but related. This explains why erstwhile critics of cryptocurrencies such as Jordan Belfort are now hopping onto NFTs. Whatever the impact of NFTs on crypto is, it is clear that a positive outcome is to be expected.
