Zhao of Binance: Debunks CCP Affiliation Accusations

A response has been provided by Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the guy behind the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, in response to charges surrounding his nationality and involvement with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Twitter’s immorality exposed in hearing

During a recent hearing on the weaponization of the federal government in the United States House of Representatives Judiciary Select Subcommittee, House Democrat Stacey Plaskett, who represents the United States Virgin Islands in the United States Congress, presented the claims. The acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk and the following publishing of the “Twitter Files,” which provided an insight into the immoral behaviors of the social media behemoth, were the central topics of discussion during the hearing.

Plaskett pointed out that Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, who also happens to own a $500 million interest in Twitter, is a Chinese national while addressing Michael Shellenberger. Shellenberger is the person to whom Plaskett was responding. She addressed this to Shellenberger while addressing the audience. “He is a Chinese national, even though he holds Canadian citizenship,” she remarked.

Chris Blec, a prominent crypto industry influencer, took issue because Plaskett characterized Zhao as a Chinese national. The Canadian politician was accused of participating in anti-Asian prejudice by Blec for “not-so-subtly accusing” Canadian citizen Changpeng Zhao of being an asset of the Chinese Communist Party.

Binance CEO defends reputation

Zhao responded to the claims earlier today, claiming that Stacey Plaskett misrepresented the facts. He stressed that he had not been a Chinese citizen for more than 30 years and had never been a member of the CCP. The Binance CEO said that he emigrated to Canada when he was 12 and that all cryptocurrency exchanges have been prohibited in China since 2017.

Twitter users were polarized on the subject. While many people agreed with Blec’s assertions that Plaskett had discriminated against Zhao, others pointed out that the congressman had just presented facts. She did not mention the CCP or Zhao’s citizenship, emphasizing his nationality.
