Crypto Influencer Ben Armstrong Arrested For Confronting his Former Business Partner
On Tuesday, September 26, the famous crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, alias “BitBoy,” was arrested after having unsettled disputes with his former business associate. The incident took place outside the house of his former business partner when he was live-streaming on the X platform.
Initially, the crypto influencer has updated his followers’ plans to go live from a new destination. On a September 26 X post, Armstrong concealed where he will host the live streaming.
Ben Armstrong Arrested
Hours after the X post, the crypto influencer is seen outside Carlos Diaz, resident in San Francisco, hosting the YouTube livestream. A few minutes after he kicked off the livestream, Armstrong accused Diaz his former business partner of attempting to kill him.
The brand influencer purported that Diaz owned his Lamborghini. In his statement, Armstong claimed that Diaz has close relations with the Houston Mafia, an Italian-American family associated with multiple criminal activities.
In an unapprehensive tone, Armstrong stated he was unafraid of his former business partner. After things turned more chaotic, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department intervened on the matter. Upon further interrogation, Armstrong denied owning any weapon or gun.
In the live stream, the law enforcers are seen ordering Bitboy to hand over his mobile device, which interrupted with his YouTube video. However, the conversation between the police and the troubled content creator was recorded on audio media.
Ben Armstrong to be Release on Bail
According to the police report, Benjamin Charles Armstrong was arrested on Monday, September 25, at 09:11 p.m. Georgian time. The suspect was accused of assaulting Diaz and threatening him. The report demonstrates that Armstrong will be put behind bars for further questioning.
And he will be required to settle penalties amounting to around $2600 to be released on bail. Hours after his arrest, Diaz updated on his X account a video about the incident.
The disagreement between the two came days after Armstrong cut ties with Hit Network due to substance abuse and exposing employees to financial losses. Besides terminating the contract with the Hit Network, Amstrong has been caught in multiple wrongdoings.
Last year, the crypto influencer was accused of promoting FTX without disclosing the immediate compensation he received from the collapsed Bahamian crypto exchange. Occasionally, Armstrong has been accused of harassment of lawyers representing a plaintiff.
He has also been charged with failing to appear before the court on the agreed dates. Moreover, Armstrong was accused of leveraging his influential capabilities to insult critical players in the financial and legal sectors, such as Gary Gensler, the chair of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Christine Lagarde, the president of the European Central Bank. On the other hand, the content creator filed a defamation lawsuit against Erling Mengshoel Jr. alias Atozy in 2021.
