Are Hong Kong Vending Machines Accepting BCH and other Altcoins over Bitcoin?
Roger Ver posted a video in which a vending machine was accepting Bitcoin Cash (BCH) instead of top digital asset Bitcoin. A prominent crypto analyst, Tone Vays, blamed Ver for paying the machine not to accept Bitcoin. Ver rejected the allegations by denoting to Bitcoin’s network slow speed and high fees.
Posted on May 29, the video shows that vending machine was accepting altcoins such as Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), and Binance Coin (BNB). There was no option of payment for Bitcoin.
Vays’s Accusation
Prominent crypto YouTuber, Tone Vays, did not believe this fact, but he accused BCH’s supporter of paying the vending machine not show Bitcoin as a payment way. “Because you probably paid for that features of the machine…Real question is how many transactions have they processed since that demo and what are they doing with the BCH and ETH,” he said. This statement shows that Ver who has shared the video is responsible for removing the payment option of BTC by paying to the manufacturer of the vending machine. However, it is still not clear about what’s the real matter.
Famous crypto trader Willy Woo also has a doubt on the video. Woo said:
“This was my first thought also, it’s common practice for lower tier altcoins to pay to get access to ATMs, which begs the question of how centralized these projects are.”
Ver’s Reaction
Ver was a famous promoter of Bitcoin, but now, he promotes BCH over other coins, including Bitcoin. While talking to a media outlet, Roger Ver said:
“I’ve invested in a lot of things, but to the best of my knowledge, I’m not an investor in any way for those vending machines, and I don’t even know the people behind it. I suspect the real reason they don’t accept BTC is because BTC fees are too high, and the payments are too easy to reverse,” he added.
