BBC Journalist Buys NFT Says The Process Was ‘A Nightmare’

According to an article posted by BBC Reporter and Journalist Cristina Criddle, it is revealed that the process of getting hands on NFT is said to be extremely difficult.

Stressful Process

The process of purchasing NFT has never been perfect, but looking at Cristina’s experience, it looks like there is much more to it. Cristina explained in her article that the procedure of getting hands on an NFT is ‘a nightmare’. Cristina shared information about her experience of buying an NFT. Cristina wanted to purchase a CryptoKitty NFT on OpenSea, which included Digital Artwork. At the start, Cristina was extremely excited about this opportunity, but as the process proceeded, it became much more difficult and stressful to get her hands on one, which quickly shattered her motivation to bits.

Cristina also mentioned details about dealing with gas prices and the price of Ethereum constantly shifting, which she intended to use for the purchase, meanwhile also told to wait for the purchase to get approval, leading to loss of value.

A widespread Issue

The interesting thing is that Cristina wasn’t the only one suffering from these issues regarding NFT purchasing. Cristina mentioned in her article that there had been a ton of problems and complaints submitted by many buyers. The complaints included delayed purchases and halted transactions, which further led customers to lose money because of the constant price fluctuations and increase in the gas price of Ethereum.

This experience surely indicates that NFTs are still not yet ready to be adopted by the mass. Some people believe that all this is just a big misunderstanding, but others believe that the process of buying NFTs should be improved so that it can handle a wide number of customers.

NFTs still strong

Despite these issues, NFTs have maintained their popularity in the market. The increasing popularity shows that people are definitely interested and enthusiastic about them, especially the sports industry in which many popular players, including Floyd Mayweather Jr, have launched their NFT collections, attracting fans, giving them an opportunity to get their hands on exclusive and rare collections.

Rap Genius, Eminem also launched his NFT collection, which included memorable items highlighting his childhood days. Reports from Crypto.com have revealed that back in February of this year, NFT sales reached a staggering $34Million in value, displaying the amazing performance of NFTs worldwide.
