JP Morgan’s Cryptocurrency Executive Christine Moy Is Going To Leave the Firm
Christine Moy, an experienced executive from JPMorgan’s crypto and blockchain operations, is quitting the venue. Moy, having worn several hats within the megabank of Wall Street, became a co-founder of Onyx (a blockchain unit) during 2020 to run a payments network called JPM Coin and Liink. Recently, she acquired the title of being the metaverse’ global head within the team of Onyx. It has been more than 18 years for her to have worked on the platform, as disclosed by the LinkedIn profile of the executive.
In 2016, before her promotion to the crypto and blockchain global head, she played roles within the investment and corporate bank regarding the trading of syndicated loans as well as the marketing and sales of global commodities. After nearly a couple of decades, the executive stated in a LinkedIn post, she was departing JPM to track a unique opportunity. She added that she would thank the management at the platform for the chances they had provided her to learn and grow.
She further appreciated Takis Georgakopoulos, Umar Farooq, as well as the rest of the executives, for being vital in enabling her to undertake risks, remote possibilities, and experiments to develop a trustworthy team culture. She also acknowledged the efforts of the leaders who had sponsored her, mentored her, and guided her through the utmost perplexing times.
Moy – who is counted among the top crypto-related Wall Streeters – had been among the chief personalities to bridge up the space between the financial services and the crypto world, promoting the JPMorgan to perform banking with the crypto companies like Gemini and Coinbase, as per the LinkedIn post.
It was previously reported this month that Moy assisted in developing the presence of the bank in the field of the metaverse, organizing a place within Decentraland. In her words, the mission thereof has been to bring the impossible into the category of the possible. She moved on to mention that she led a team culture concentrating on being resilient and bold, up to date, as well as resolute to work with urgency.
Umar Farooq – the head of Onyx – declared the forthcoming exit of Moy through a memo. He noted that the executive had been influential in constructing and driving the blockchain program of JPMorgan, since 2015 when less than five people were there in the blockchain group of the platform. Sushil Raja – the strategy head as well as the CFO of Onyx – will take several of Moy’s duties, as per the memo.
