Rob Gronkowski faces the risk of being named as a defendant in the current lawsuit against Mark Cuban and his team, the Dallas Mavericks, for promoting the collapsed Voyager Digital. Rob is about to face the same case for endorsing Voyager products, helping it to gain more adoption before its collapse.

Gronkowski To Face Lawsuit For Endorsing Cryptocurrency

In 2020 when Tom Brady left the New England Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Rob Gronkowski reportedly did the same. Also, in 2021, when Brady started endorsing cryptocurrency firms and products, Rob allegedly did the same again.

Currently, Brady is facing a lawsuit for promoting the now-collapsed FTX, and Rob is about to follow suit as plaintiffs decide his role in the crashed Voyager Digital. Recently, the plaintiffs in charge of the Chapter 11 proceedings of the bankrupt Voyager Digital reportedly sued Dallas Mavericks and its owner, Mark Cuban, for endorsing the crypto firm.

In addition, they issued Gronkowski a subpoena accusing him of being an ambassador of the failed crypto platform, just like the Dallas Mavericks. Even though the plaintiffs have not identified Gronkowski as a defendant, they have launched a pretrial investigation to decide his fate in the trial.

According to the complainants’ emails on Dec. 30, they plan to include all NFL and NASCAR members who endorsed Voyager Digital before its collapse. Adam Moskowitz, the plaintiffs’ attorney, reportedly said the NFL hall Famer was a brand ambassador of Voyager who helped promote the firm’s uncensored securities

He added that they had served Gronkowski a subpoena. In addition, he said the plaintiffs have till Feb. 24 to present the final amended filings against Voyager Digital. Hence, they have until then to decide whether to add Gronkowski to the defendant list or not.

Drew Rosenhaus, the defendant’s attorney, refused to make comments at the time of writing.

Celebrities And Unregistered Securities

According to the filings, Mark Cuban was accused of publicly using the Dallas Mavericks’ promotional facilities to endorse Voyager’s crypto products. In addition, he allegedly promoted the firm’s crypto products via conferences held online and offline at various locations in Miami.

Cuban is facing allegations of selling unregistered securities, like many other celebrities. Meanwhile, in the ongoing investigation of the collapsed FTX, plaintiffs have launched accusations against many celebrities like Tom Brady, Naomi Osaka, David Ortiz, and Larry David for endorsing FTX before its collapse.

These lawsuits against public figures have raised questions about the guilt of celebrities who tout failed financial products. It remains to be seen if Brady, Gronkowski, and other influencers would be held responsible for helping crypto firms deceive investors.
