It is becoming increasingly common for the people of South Korea and a growing number of big corporations in the nation to embrace and incorporate the Metaverse into their daily lives in surprising and unexpected ways. Two big shops in the nation have recently integrated Metaverse and artificial intelligence features into their stores in order to improve the shopping experience for their customers. On November 16, GS Shop demonstrated the internal workings of a foodstuff production plant in the Metaverse, marking the beginning of home shopping in the Metaverse.
Its goal was to reassure clients about the overall quality of the facilities as well as the food that was available for purchase. GS Shop created 3D reconstructions of the physical facilities using scans taken on-site. Customers who possessed augmented reality (AR) equipment, such as the haptic gear Meta unveiled this week, would be able to visit the facility in the virtual world and witness the conditions in which their foodstuffs were being manufactured.
Jason Ye, the co-founder of DeSpread, a multi-chain ecosystem startup, said he has witnessed a significant increase in the number of enterprises entering the Metaverse in Korea. He went on to tell reporters that it seemed as though every firm these days was dipping their toes into the Metaverse and Playing to Earn. He went on to explain that Korea has a large number of valuable intellectual property rights.

Adoption In Other Industries
Avatars from the metaverse and AI (artificial intelligence) are appearing in a variety of areas, including retail, banking, and even public services. Lotte Home Shopping, which surpassed $14 billion in revenue in 2020, has launched Lucy, a virtual model that will assist in the promotion of the brand’s merchandise. Owing to Lucy’s own Instagram account, Lotte intends to employ the avatar in future streaming video content and on social media platforms.
It is also quite probable that Lotte will include Lucy in its virtual shop that is located in the Metaverse. The use of virtual reality has now spread to the public sector as well as the private sector. The Seoul City administration said on November 6 that it aimed to complete the construction of its Metaverse platform by 2023, which will allow people to bring civil lawsuits.
The “Metaverse 120 Center,” as it is initially dubbed, will manage virtual visits that do not necessitate the actual presence of the guest. The Korean military said on November 10 that it will gradually integrate Metaverse apps into soldier training courses by the 2030s.
