In an interview with the local newsroom Sky Mavis’ head of business development, Kathleen Osgood confessed that the new game would be compatible with the existing Axie Infinity gaming ecosystem. She affirmed that the developers will utilize the Axie Infinity gaming experiences to create the new game.

The executive believes that blockchain gaming sector will regain vitality after the launch of a Genkai that will bring more players to the Web3 sector. In the latter Osgood criticized the gaming approach adopted by most companies.

Osgood noted that the existing games are based on the “copy and paste” approach aiming at experimenting with what will work on centralized platforms. She lamented that this approach would not lead to the massive growth of Web3 industry.

The executive affirmed that the potential to onboard a larger audience to the gaming sector lies in Web3 technologies. She explained that leveraging Web3 technology in gaming provides the users with endless benefits, including unique products, and boosts user experiences.

Beyond this, Syk Mavis and CyberKongz plan to migrate Play and Kollet (P&K) games to the Ronin blockchain. The P&K game is a blockchain-powered game positioned on the Polygon network.

The P&K game has lately gained popularity since it allows game enthusiasts to earn NFTs. Also, the said blockchain game offers the user soulbond tokens. A soulbond coin is a digital token representing a person or company’s history.

Furthermore, the partners plan to migrate to the Ronin blockchain, enabling CyberKongz to increase its user base. The report revealed that the impending transition to Ronin blockchain will enable CyberKongz to reach a large audience.

Significance of Lauching Play-to-Earn Games

In an earlier report, the co-founder of Sky Mavis Aleksander Larsen, confirmed that the play-to-earn games fail to work in their existing gaming ecosystem. The official explained that launching P2E games requires the firms to invest heavily to allow players to earn rewards. Larsen added that games must incorporate enjoyable features to boost the gaming experience.

He recounted the Axie Infinity game has gained popularity through its P2E feature. Since 2021 the Axie Infinity game has allowed players to earn measurable tokens by playing.

According to CryptoSlam, an NFT data tracker, the Axie Infinity game remains among the best-performing games with a considerable sales volume. Besides the efforts made by Sky Mavis to dominate the gaming sector, the NFT craze overturned blockchain games in 2021. A recent study showed that interest in blockchain games has experienced slow growth compared to NFT.
